I got the same launching my existing PTS to update it. After uninstalling that and running the new PTS installer, it says that it can't install because there is already a version of MWO on my computer. Do I have to uninstall my regular MWO to install the PTS?

Its trying to uninstall the old PTS installer, not MWO.

I too installed the PTS on a separate HDD and was getting the forbidden error, reinstalled on the same drive as MWO now it works.

I came into report all the errors I am having when trying to patch the test server client. Then I saw the event notice.
Well done PGI. Way to go! Ensuring that your pool of testers is as small as possible, almost guarantees a useless or at lease skewed data set. I applaud the utter contempt which you are displaying toward this process. Just really impressive.
Oh as to the issues I was having patching/loading the test server...nevermind. You obviously don't care, so why should I.

With my temper tantrum out of the way. I fiddled around and got the server to download: est time: 4 hrs. Yikes. Maybe I will get a chance to test tomorrow.
