Don't forget the annual c-bill sale.. January hits, and just about every mech will hit sale during that month for 35% off. (all but the ones that have been fairly recently released)
and yea, mech bays as needed, stock up on a sale, but those are kinda rare. I think last year i bought a 7 dollar pack and got 15 bays, (had a bit of MC left over from a previous purchase)
But yea, heroes for 50% off are a great deal to help you grind c-bills, and play something a bit different.
I am also one of those people that say never sell a mech.. It is just to cheap to buy bays, especially when a sale hits, even lights, by the time you buy um and endo/ferro/double heat sinks, you are at least 5-6m in already, larger mechs are even more.. Even with premium that can be an entire weekend of grinding if you want it back one day. I dunno about you, but 7 bucks, and 5 bays.. can mean a month of weekends. Besides the money you get back is peanuts, as you get about 50% of the base cost of the mech, and all upgrades don't count in the resale. Sell that light, or medium say, and get 1-2m? Buy it again and upgrade and pay 6m? It just is not worth my time. Id rather pay the dollar worth of MC and sit on a mech for 2 years, than spend a weekend regrinding money.
Side note, Sometimes spending MC on normal mechs is worth it, especially champion versions that already have full upgrades, and often come with great XL engines which are very expensive. They have normal mechs on sale for 35 or 50% off from time to time as well, and typically the MC is the same. For example, i bought a locust hero, locust champion and Commando champion, The locusts came with XL engines worth about 3m, and had full upgrades, (another 2.5m) the commando had full upgrades.. I had a few MC left over from an event, and paid 7 bucks for 3 mechs, which had a value of about 15m. That can take me 2-3 weekends to make or even a month if i don't play that much.
Buy mechs on sale, when they hit, even if you don't plan on using them at the moment. I still got a bunch i picked up last January that i have yet to get around too.
Spending Mcs, What To Buy?

Okay guys thanks for all the advice. I'm going to bank and wait for the sales (if I can...sooo tempting to click that 'BUY' button...must resist...)
Will grind cbills with my existing mechs...since they all have the 30% cbill perk. I may spend a few cbills to try different loadouts if they don't have something similar on trial, but going to save most of earnings. I have a busy work schedule so have to manage my time alas.
Oh do the sales (other than New Years) follow any kind of pattern? For example apparently I just missed the Assault sale (would have picked up the AWS-8Q) so wondering how often they cycle. Is it about 1 chassis class / season? No worries I'll just keep an eye on the weekly patch notes.
Thanks again folks and happy pew-pewing!

No other than the new years sale, they are completely random though often them have a theme, or go along with an event, or a holiday if that helps ya.. May be one with the anniversary coming.. My guess is when loyalty mechs hit, all of those will go on sale, to courage players to pick up 2 more.. But i have no proof that will happen, just an educated guess. that said, could be a good time to buy a misery
perhaps...
Easter and Valentines day typically have sales, as well as Halloween, Black Friday, Christmas, and then new years.. those are pretty much a given. Sales also hit on Fridays, and average about twice a month, there is something on sale, though colors have been pretty rare as of late.

A few months ago i was in the same spot you're in now.
Returning Founder after quitting shortly after release ... well about 90 days after release I think it was.
Something to consider: you need 3 Mech variants to completely level a chassis to master. Having a 'soft spot' for catapults I already had bought (with C-Bills) and leveled 2 more variants back then. So when coming back i had those, the 4 Founder's Mechs and the 3 Loyalty ones.
With the Founders Atlas and the Loyalty one you're only missing one more variant for mastery if Assaults are your thing. So i'd suggest buying the D-DC with C-Bills.
What i did instead when returning was getting the Hunchback mastery bundle for MC as the mastery bundles basically are always on sale for 50% discount ...
Just my 2 CBills.
Welcome back!

When your starting out the best thing to spend MC on is mech bays. PGI has sales on stuff every few months but I'm not sure if mech bays ever go on sale. The second thing is paint colors. There are a few paint colors you can get for c-bills but most of the "camo" type colors are 500 MC each if I remember right.
If you have a mech you want to deck out with a better camo pattern be sure to select the "one shot" camo pattern which are usually 75MC.
The other thing I would suggest is to do some research and look into getting a hero mech like the bounty hunter or black widow when you need to grind for extra c-bills.
