I just got an x52 pro and am loving it, but i have no desk space for it with my keyboard. I am on a tight budget and cant afford to get some fancy confangled chair. I have some generic chair with arms with an arc to them. Any suggestions on how to mount it, throttle and joystick. The only way I can think of is removing my current arms and building some custom ones. By custom I mean 2 by 4s crudely mounted to my chair.

Without seeing it, it's kinda hard to give info on what to do. I am a metal fabrication guy, and can build just about anything out of metal, Could you post a pic? If you have metal arms on your chair, you could make something pretty cool for not much $$$, just use a little ingenuity and take a trip to the local hardware store....it could all be done with the right hardware, metal stock, and a cordless drill...

Could have some plywood custom cut at lowes and screw it down to your arm rests. Make them about 8-10 insches wide and long with a little wing on the side that matches the dimensions of your chair arm. Take some 1" wood screws and screw it down and now you have an expanded arm rest with mounts for your stick and throttle.

or go further and add servo motors to the chair, mount your screens to a pivot mount counter balanced on the rear of the chair and have a chair that swivels on the torso twist to make it really crazy realistic!!!!!! :) *ok yeah to much time waiting on getting into beta I know but hey.... B) I'm bored*

Think I might just got to lowes and get some 2 x 2 s and box them in with plywood to replace the current arms and adding some type of removable or fordable mount to let me use my mouse and possibly keyboard as well, but then again I am as handy as a guy with no hands.

PS would attach a pic if I could figure out how, really struggling today

So it looks like the arms are plastic, is that right?

so red circles drill through, get 2 lengths of 1/8 steel rod (if you need to do both arms) insert steel rod into holes and then bend rod to desired shape, fasten to chair with small u-clamps/straps, mount flat surface in grey area. (wood or metal) using same...steel rod stock is about 5-8 $ depending on length, and the various H/W should only set you back 10-15 $ total. Sorry about the crude paint drawing, and it's just an idea, might get you off in the right direction. and remember...

Looks as though that clamps to your computer desk, not the chair though...

Just had an Idea, dontknow why it didnt occur to me ealier. I work at a metal distribution warhouse, I can just get a 20' lenght of angle bar at cost an make me a decent arm out of metal. This is chair 2.0 with orange being the angle bar, 1.5 X 1.5 X .125 most likely, and pink bieing some type of connection; probaly all bolts. Then I can add a piece of ply word or steel to the top mount to give me an area for the jouystic and throttle.

Yes - it was meant to give another option. The chair route is intriguing, though... Any links to 'fancy confangled chairs' for those of us who can't make stuff?

Interesting - though this cheaper version looks more convenient, perhaps. Thanks for the link!

Obutto's chairs are top notch and versatile.

The Ozone has been out for quite awhile. The Revolution is the newer, much improved design.
