I lost my internet (once it hit $300 in 2 months I said screw this) so I am using my tablet

I can play about 3 matches in the early morning before T-mobile throttles me

was trying to get some MC on the last event but it ended

the weight of the world event was a good idea

I think the PTS patch was 13 gig so no way I could down load that

from what I can tell the energy draw is not working

why because not enough people are crying about it lol

What I really want is a reason to pew pew. CW could've offered it, but instead it became a glorified Quick Play.

The way I see it, everything pretty much revolves around shooting other 'Mechs. If it doesn't, then it misses the entire point of this game, which is decidedly not about running over and standing on a square/blowing up a bus to claim a victory. We already have "shooting other 'Mechs" down pat. The only way game modes could possibly be more interesting is if it involved massive scale battlefields with resource management and respawns. We will not be getting that. We are stuck with Counter-Strike: BattleTech Edition, and no PvP game-mode any of you people posit that doesn't include respawns is going to change that.

PvE, well, not interested. Since we've already played with all of the toys, there's nothing to look forward to in a PvE game.

But new weapons are just a different color of light or a different sound effect which basically do the same thing. If you enjoy the experimenting and customization aspect the most then ED might be the answer because many of the combinations that work now are not as good with ED in place and other combinations are bound to be better. That should keep you interested for a little while.

If and when it happens that is.

New weapons can be more than new combinations of Light and sound if they introduce new mechanics. Some examples of game-play altering things:

1. Charge up (controllable or non-controllable...makes weapons interesting to play with since it's not point-n-click)
2. Indirect fire (dumb-fire...as in mortar, not LRM, something decidedly absent from this game)
3. Area of effect (Only strikes do this at the moment...goes with indirect fire)
4. Multi-lock (as in, I can lock missiles from a volley individually to multiple 'Mechs and/or components on a 'Mech)
5. Heat transfer (only the Flamer does this; Plasma Rifles do it, too, as well as real damage, making them kinda neat)

And yes, ED might make things interesting again. Might. I am not a fan of the current direction, though, since the only thing it does is encourage me to bring a few really big guns with long range and blaze away. It also changes nothing for Lights, which I have not yet decided is good or bad. We'll see!

Eh new Pew Pews would be nice, but to tell you what I want, what I really really want.... is more interesting and immersive things to do WITH new pewpews and shinies. Light Gauss and RACs will keep me entertained for all of .... 15 minutes in the current stale hamster wheel of game modes.

As usual, what Bishop said. Honestly, this last week, I've been watching tons of Star Citizen videos. Keep in mind you can't even take 3/4th of their ships out of the hanger, you just get to walk around them and inside them, but even so? Chris Roberts has created an immersive universe that ALREADY feels real, and the game isn't even playable yet.

I want the fluff.

Right now, MWO feels like the original Unreal Tournament. Just team deathmatch. It's like someone made a mod where you get to have a cool mech skin.

MWO doesn't feel like a lived in universe: it feels like an arena deathmatch game and really, that's all it is. There's no sense of permanence, no sense of what you're fighting for, no sense of...anything, really.

Now I know they're working on these things, but they've been eerily quiet about it for a while now. Mostly it's been just mentions of what mech's next, power draw (another unneeded system overlay), and so on. Somehow "I," as a mechwarrior, am rushing into a battle, getting my mech shot out from under me, and then magically teleporting to one of my other three mechs.

Is that what's happening? Or am I really representing four different mechwarriors?

See what I mean? There's no permanence. There's no sense that any of this matters.

I think that's why I drifted away from FP (well, that and the rewards just aren't there, or the population) - I can get into a quick play match and even if it's awful, at least it's over quick. And the chances for a fun roll or a good fight are about even.

Sad thing is, gameplay balance is pretty good. I love the mechs. I can pilot a Marauder and a Battlemaster for the first time since I was, what? 17 or so? '92? Whenever the first one came out.

And that was enough to keep me loyal and hopeful for this game for the last three-plus years. But that's waning. I said when I first started that this game, no matter how good, wouldn't hold my interest forever, but I have to say it would have held it for a lot longer if there were more to it.

Even the big wins, even my great games, are just kind of shrug-worthy. And I'm CO of my own unit, even if the vast majority of the players have also drifted away to other things.

And I don't mean to be totally down on all of this, I like this game, it's still kind of fun, I just felt like it was going to be so much more; like so much more was promised. If PGI had said: "We want to make a deathmatch game with mechs from Battletech, and it'll be arena style combat," guess what? I probably still would have bought in.

But it feels like it's run its course at this point.

I feel like I'm going to grind out the Elite levels in my Cyclops and that'll probably be my last hurrah for a while.

I have played maybe 15 matches this year including the ones i played on the Energy Draw PTS...Yes.
I played this little MWO over the course of nearly 9 months.
ED replacing GH will probably bring TTK up which is a good thing but it to me ED isn't even a new mechanic....
it feels old and boring the moment it was announced.

It brings nothing new and exciting to MWO. It's just so...uninspired and plain boring. Doesn't do anything to encourage mixed builds.
As a matter of fact GH did more to encourage mixed builds than ED and GH was one heck of a fiasco.
There are heaps of ideas better than ED and GH in the PTS feedback section but Russ only spends time on Twitter so these ideas will never be concidered.

Not easy to have the interest to login with the current status quo before the new energy draw system goes live.

I play about, maybe 10 matches every other day. I don't always be in the mood to wait far a match in the PTS. The waits are too long. So the only thing I can do is work on my loadouts in preparation for the new energy draw system.

To me it feels like a waste of time to login and play until the new energy draw system hits. I have a bunch of mechs, c-bills, mech bays and other stuff. I actually have too much other stuff so playing now just feels unfulfilling.

I'm playing, but I'm not touching my Gauss Rifles and other laser vomit builds for now. Building a 2x LB20X HBKIIC and got the CD module and polishing up my HBK-4G and other AC20 builds in case they decide to keep the AC/20 as is.

Even before energy draw though I've been doing half and half on my laservomit at least half the time I play them so it won't be too big of a shock to me.

I still have 21 Mechs that aren't Elited. I feel kind of compelled to log in daily and progress at least one of them up one level.

Some days that's fun.

I'm looking forward to ED as it has the potential to shake things up a little.

But what I'd really love is for FP to have more depth and nuance, and deliver a more consistently high quality of match.

Funny, cause Energy draw hittingf the live servers as is makes me want to play less

But it would have to be more than minimally viable, so we cant have that
