When I first played the first MW (BattleTech) video game " The Crescent Hawk's Inception" and the roll playing game, stocks, such as MechWorks, was a way to earn extra C-Bills.

This did come with risk, stock fall you loose out. Point was it was a side challenge to the main game and added a little risky fun.

You could even provide parts discounts for any one that has a large stake in the stocks that control the part, or penalty for buying out side of your own fraction or sphere.

Any way, I believe it could add a little between fights spice.

Sorry, after reading some more, STOCK is what you are calling a form of Mech design.

I should have titled this Old MW C-Bill Stocks.
