I usually just get them unconsciously, but when you are consciously trying to do them (still need 4), they seem exceedingly hard.

So I've been running ECM ACH and basically just snipe and run away (even though I dun have to) in attempt to simulate a "hit and run" motion.

But nothing... haven't been able to do it twice in a game when consciously trying to do it.

Is there some requirements like,

You have to run a certain distance after the hit?
Enemy can't be aware of your location?
Can't be in FOV?
Must be within a certain distance of the hit?
Must do a certain amount of damage?

Cause plenty of times, I would apply damage, go out of FOV from everyone, and not get the Hit N Run. (no damage receive from return fire, if there are any) Anyone know the exact mechanics?

I've been doing that kinda thing for years. I made a guide on how to do it.
Be aware that it is a textwall written in the 5 first posts in the guide. But it contains maps and step by step guidance.

MWO: Forums - Non Meta Light Mech Tactics Guide.

My M.R.M.A. tactics are not perfect and neither am i but i do know that if PGI decides to launch Energy Draw in one month my tactics won't change.
I feel confident of that fact because they didn't change back when Ghost Heat arrived either.

I don't understand. I want the explanation of the mechanics of getting the Hit N Run achievement so that I can complete the MWO Challenge going on right now. I don't get how building a 120 kph literal "hit and run" mech answers any of that question.

This was about the event? I never even looked at the event stuff so i thought he was asking for advice on how to do hit and runs.
Oh well...Whenever i do things right i can get everywhere from 5 to 15 hit and runs. Might help to read my guide....might not.

Hit and Run:
• A hit and run “Score” is generated based off an engagement.
• Every point of damage dealt counts for 1 point of score.
• Every point of damage taken counts for -2 points of score.
• If score is greater than 10, you are awarded with a hit and run award.
• If the total damage taken during the engagement is greater than 15 the score is zeroed and no award is given.

Thanks, that's exactly what I am looking for. Basically, 2 ERPPC SHC. Done!

The requirements don't seem correct, I've done many cases of "deal > 10 damage + receive 0 damage" which should qualify me for Hit and Run but I keep getting Flanking or some other random bonuses instead.

I've also been struggling with this goal. Many many times I've inflicted 10+ damage, then faded away without taking any return fire, but the bonus never comes.

You have to have a target lock on your opponent and he/she has to have a lock on you. Then when the engagement breaks off, you have to have scored more damage to them (by 10) than they have on you.

Thanks. The mutual target part I had no idea was a component of it.

It's the only way the engine can know which two pilots are "engaged" with each other.

I get hit and runs all the time, but I didn't know that, thanks.

You have to be 'unengaged' for some period - which varies by your weight class - for the Hit and Run to register.

Does anyone know what period of time dealing and taking no damage constitutes 'unengaged' for each weight class?

One of my favorite ways to achieve "Hit and Runs" is: Pilot an Atlas, aim at a corner, light mech pokes, bang him, he runs away, ding dong! "hit and run" You don't even need to move.

i think you need to do like 20 damage and then get away for a few seconds without getting hit. somone else might have the actual formula. pretty easy to get with high alpha poking.
