Sorry if this is a repeat thread. But does anyone know of any good meta drop decks for FP? Especially one's that can rip apart Kodiaks....(don't know if it's possible though cause those Kodiaks are OP) Right now i drop with two battlemasters, a blackjack and a raven. I really like the battlemasters cause they have high mounted lasers and a lot of armor. BJ is also good cause it's fast and packs a lot of lasers, raven is sort of a throw away mech

BLR-1G - 4 medium lasers, 3 ER large lasers - all mounted in torsos
BLR-2C - 6 pulse lasers
BJ-1X - 6 med, 2 med pulse
RVN-3L(C)- 2 large lasers, ECM

I know their are some builds out there in the internet land but some of them are out of date, some as old as 2014. So I was wondering if their were newer meta builds

He's a merc, might be getting ready to switch...

Or he might be spying, trying figure out how we would counter kodiaks so that he can counter the counter to kodiaks...

Either way, the fact is that the current kodiak meta is usually full of UACs. Some guauss bears out there but UACs seem to be the preferred weapons.

So i will say in countering UACs, consider their flaws;
Can jam
Damage spray
Extended face time to deliver all damage

Can't do too much about jams but the spray... if you torso twist, that damage will go all over you, not to one point.

The extended face is because they have to keep their reticule on target throughout their tap/double tap. This means they *can't* torso twist as effectively.

So my rules of thumb are:
STD engine
Good manueverability/def quirks
Damage dealing in bursts (minmal face time)

They are big targets which helps...

And if all else fails, SHOOT THEM IN DA BACK!

Either way, don't run a light. Drop one assault and tonne up that light.

Clan is just streakboats. 6 LPL on a 2C is too hot as well, way too hot.

Adding a light in the deck, unless you are gen rushing, is generally useless due to PGI nerfing most IS lights. They move like mediums, lost most of their structure and quirks, and lack firepower. Clan streaks have also made lights a one shot kill. Bring heavies and mediums and you will have a better chance. If the mechs have high structure think XL. Otherwise use standard engines, large pulse lasers, and torso twist.

"Right now", bit of a puzzler that one specially since I've played against him quite a few times, never saw him on IS side though.

yea I may do that I really like my battlemasters which kind of forces me to have a light to met tonnage, maybe if I get another blackjack since they aren't as heavy as the other medium mechs
