I know it's a strange idea and might sound a bit far fetched but....

Stop defending and go in the attack queue!!

Let the Clanners come to us!!

All IS factions have a Clan border by now. Do the event rules say IS HAS TO DEFEND?

That's cause many players think defending is easier than invading. Which isn't true at all.

At THIS very moment, there is ONE IS team attacking and that is Kcom under Davion contract. Everyone else is rushing into defense queues to get slaughtered by Clan premades. There MUST be something in the event rules I've missed, seriously.

They do. Just often incorrectly. Which is why we can't have nice matches. Which is why learning to drop call is one of the best skill one can learn in MWO.

Drop calling is easy, learning to follow a call seems to be the hard part. Oh, and distinguishing left from right and forward from backward.

Fought all night, got the planet as high as 76% at one point, only to be lost to a lack of Davion presence and ghost drops

Two things you're fighting against.

One is a culture of defense - habits are habits. Most the Davion pug players and a few units almost universally drop defense.

The other is recent events having chased off a good sized chunk of remaining loyalists who used to drop attack.

My best recommendation is drop in 6s or 8s in the defense queue, show the pugs what winning looks like and yell them to join you in the attack queue.

You're not going to change the populations behavior in a weekend. You've got most the people who would have been there recently gone and much of what's left dedicated pugs who firmly believe defense is "easier".

They're not going to come when called, you're going to have to go get them.

Edited to add -

Davion TS. Get in it, add "poke me if you want in to a FW premade" to your name. Have at least 1 person in there all the time so people know they can find you for matches and you'll likely pick up some more.

Again, you're wanting to be a consistent presence so people know to look for you. Expect it to take a few days to really get moving but of those left that's likely your best odds.

Always the problem with the IS. Since day 1. 90% want to defend all the time.

I haven't heard anyone claiming defending is easier than invading - generally the opposite. I think the reason is a lot simpler - they go where they'll have the shortest wait for a fight. And that's generally the planetary defense with 12+ enemies already queued up. I'm not saying it's a good reason, but it is basic human nature.
