You dropped the time it takes for the AC 20 down to 4.0. Please return the firing cooldown time for the Gauss to 4.0. I can live with the charge up and fire.

Also if you could restore the 90% chance of blowup instead of the 100% threshold. But please, thank you for increasing the hit points to 10 instead of the lousy 5 they had.

It's GOOD that there are cons to it.


We had a day when the GR had 10 health, didn't explode, and didn't have charge up. It was by and far the best ballistic, and what's more even after they made it explode, it was STILL the best brawling ballistic by a long shot.

We do NOT need the GR to be better; it's awesome as it stands, but it has disadvantages. There needs to be reasons to consider the AC20 and AC10.

but chargeup should not be that reason.

chargeup needs to be removed because its counter intuitive to the gauss rifle's purpose of being a sniper weapon

sniper weapons should be able to snapshot, thats the whole point of sniper weapons

the gauss rifle should have a different disadvantage instead like an extremely long cooldown, which is how it was balanced in previous mechwarrior games.

I agree it should not be better. But it should also make sense.

And a sniper weapon that cant snapshot doesnt make sense.

chargeup has always been the wrong way to go about balancing the gauss rifle.

instead it should have an extremely long cooldown. giving it a long cooldown and allowing it to snapshot makes it better at its intended purpose of long-range sniping while also ensuring that it cant compete with other weapons at short and medium ranges due to lack of dps.

no it should blow up 100%.

the ammo explosion chance for non-gauss ammo should be 100% too (instead of 10%), but the damage should be significantly reduced.

RNG is simply not a fun mechanic, especially in cases where it can destroy mechs.
