I got a Gauss Rifle from a supply cache and thought I'd add it to my Rifleman. Problem is it doesn't show up on the list of available weapons in the mechlab. Why is that?!

Which Rifleman?

If you are trying to put that on the RFL-5D, it has no ballistic hardpoints, so it would not show up as an available weapon.

Couple of reasons..

1)A riffle man mech is an Inner Sphere mech and you might have got a Clan version of the Gauss Rifle,
2)Your overweight on your mech and so you have to strip everything on your mech in order to place it.
3)I dont have my game up at the moment but might be that your Mech might not have the slots to place it on the arm?

Thoes are the possible reasons that I can think of off the top of my head..

Also sometimes takes a little while for supply cache items to show up in inventory

Make sure it wasn't a C-Gauss. That only goes on clan mechs.
