If only actually playing the game was a requirement. Then PGI might understand why we get so negative about some of the changes they make.

As far as i know Mark is the only one that ever does drops and is most likely the highest tier of the bunch.

then they made the misake of making that kill a dev event........nihil

No it would get me to start spending money again because they are investing in their product.

Yeah...I don't think you understand the required mentality for a F2P dev studio.

Its just an ad for a full time user interface engineer.

Previously their part time interface engineer was featured on developer blogs.

I seem to remember him having some nice arm tattoos.

Oh lord I can see it now. MechCon announcement. Mechwarrior: Mobile. Lord help us all.

I mean...it is a pretty untapped market

There's not much Battletech Mobile related items (though I've heard people got MW2 to work...)

I'm half tempted to try porting a MegaMek lite (of sorts) to touch controls as a school project...but the professor's advice was essentially:
plz no

Windows MegaMek Lite it is
I'm surprised you can actually submit a mod as a final project...

Just imagine it. 60-90 day wait times if you don't spend MC. A mech bay that takes 5 minutes to load, and drains your phone battery in an hour or less.

Not even touching the Ghost Heat mechanic that makes your phone go S7 on you if you perform too many actions at once.

Or Transverse: Revengeance.

This is actually the most likely answer. The game is growing old, progress is slowing down. There's every reason to believe PGI is working on another project right now, and trying to use their experience from this game as a springboard to something like Transverse 2: The Transversening.

You spend more time here than me, Bishop, and Deathlike combined.

There's dozens of people who spend hours here every single day, yet never play the game and haven't played for months. There should be a name for them. I like names.

There's a difference between being a smartass and trolling.

A distinction few people on this forum are able to make. I think it's because they didn't grow up with the internet.

Historically, PGI has ported other games, but they have created multiple titles of their own at the same time (this is true in most game dev companies).

The question you have to ask yourself is... "do you want a mechpack?" "is it going to be announced @ Mechcon?"

What if, just maybe, the transverse team, was working on the unreal engine 4 port the whole time?

Well, the biggest thing I can imagine is getting acquired by Microsoft.

It could also be something routine like renewing a deal with Microsoft.

Or, it could be a new engine. It is widely known that this game is as CPU bound as they come. Imagine how many people watch this game chug on the first go and just walk away. Systems with weaker cpus especially AMDs or older Intels, yet have mid range or better gfx card, just get their framerates hammered. Nothing wrong with AMD, but they have weak single thread speed. Games made for the AMD hardware on the consoles runs fine because of standardized hardware and better multi threading is simply a must to harness the power available.

Hell even my 6700k @4Ghz and 1070 still cant keep me above 60fps all the time and im not even using max settings on everything.

If it is a new game there is a good chance its Btech based but this time perhaps more mainstream

For example, an Elemental based shooter which has a much lower learning curve and a garage/lab no more involved then perhaps what you might find in world of tanks.

A total combined arms game just seems like it would be impossible given all the trouble just 'Mechs can create, especially under the FTP model.

Speaking of a mobile app, being able to customize my Mech's camo and decals on the go would be cool. I spend so much time at my computer doing that so I barely play any games.

Mechwarrior: Go

Collect mechs in real life!

To be fair to pokemon, jumping in my car with all of my kids and driving around town collecting Pokémon and taking gyms is often much more entertaining than watching the little spinning "connecting" icon in the middle of the screen.
