Matchmaker gave me a lot of games where I scored 400 damage and the rest of my team got rolled and did 100-200 dmg.

KDK might be OP for other people. It certainly doesn't seem too OP for me. lol


You did an average of 328 damage per game, with the KDK-3. That is incredibly low number for the mech. What is you loadout?

My dakka KDK-3 stats currently is this, in solo-q only. Way higher than even my best IS Assaults and Heavies.

So yeah, you are doing something wrong with the mech, cause KDK-3 is bloody OP.

I suppose u want it for nostalgia ? But only if the nostalgia is so prevalent that sales is assured

Otherwise, we need mechs that fill niche functions not more of the same. King crab already filled the assault dakka role. We don't exactly need another one.

What we need is a fast jumping heavy like the exterminator, a forty tonner, some lights.

And thereafter, to keep it going, we need new tech and IS Omnis

I like the idea of Bane though. 10 ballistic or 8 missile slots. Glorious

Exterminator wouldn't be especially great. In my opinion you would end with something like five tons heavier Quickdraw.

I want any mech that can bring something to the table that no others can. We have nothing in game that can run 3x IS AC/20's and the Annihilator could. Put me down for one.

I don't want, that slow god awful pile of junk, so stop trying to talk for me.

This game needs new lights.
Not 32 kph turrets, because that's the speed you'll need to go with the low mounted stock weapons or a HAHA XL

No. How about we get together instead and demand:

"We want anything other than moar mechs! or maybe
"We want a CW experience that doesn't suck!" or
"PGI stop nefing under performing mechs!"

Point is there are lots of "things" that we may want, but what do we really need?

Never mind. Looking at this thread, the Supernova threads, the next IS mech thread, even the ridiculous "we want the Scorpion LAM" thread (seriously?) it is clear that "we" have shown PGI what we want. More mechs over all else.
Sigh.

I was thinking to avoid the UAC jam time & went with 4 x cAC5 + 4 x cERML.

Then switched to 4 x cUAC5 + 4 x cERML. Both builds with the stock 400XL.

If kodiaks are OP, I haven't seen it yet. No problems trading fire with kodiaks I see on the field. Although, I have noticed that some avoid engaging when I'm rolling in a kodiak.

More good pilots need to use their kodiaks. I missed the part where they were supposed to be OP.

Anyone who actually knows the engines and speed + engine cap formulas that PGI uses care to do the math and tell me how fast this thing could hope to go with a maxed out engine?

I think the TT engine cap is 260.

If PGI goes with that engine cap, annihilator top speed will equal any 100 ton IS assault mech with a 260 engine.

42.1 / 45.3 kph (un-tweaked / tweaked)

There will never be an IS equivalent to the Kodiak because of how large IS ballistics and XL engines are.

Go take a look at his leaderboard stats; the problem is that he's a well below average player.

For someone of his skill level, 328 damage per game with 0.83 kills/death in an assault is actually a fair bit above average.

Everybody gets bad teams; yesterday I played 23 battles, only winning 8 for 15 losses, despite averaging 405 damage/battle in my Loyalty Hellbringer and Summoners.

Your Season 4 average match score per weight class is as follows:
Lights = 124
Mediums = 158
Heavies = 163
Assaults = 263

Compared to this, your performance in lights, mediums and assaults is not good, below the bottom 25% of players in each weight class.
Your performance in assaults is top 25%, likely due to playing the Kodiak.

You are a below average player, so averaging 328 damage per battle in an assault mech is well above normal performance for your skill level.

I'm trying to not be a jerk or anything, but your statistics indicates that even for below average players, the Kodiak performs above average, so it is indeed overpowered.


Here's per weight class average match score for another player (whom I shall not name); the Kodiak is the only assault mech they play, while other weight classes are a mix of various top tier mechs.

Lights = 174
Mediums = 203
Heavies = 200
Assaults = 294

By that player's performance in lights, mediums and assaults, they are solidly average. But their performance in assaults is top 10%!
It is obvious there that the Kodiak is having a heavy influence on their performance; an overpowered mech is making them perform well above their skill level.

While probably the case, mixtech would mitigate that, but that would inevitably break the game as currently constituted.
