New short animation, "Salvage", is up and ready. This time with a focus exclusively on IS tech.

Is there any particular setting or theme that anyone desires for the next one? I was considering setting it in a swamp with a light or medium sneaking behind enemy lines to destroy an objective and then escape. My other idea was an entirely first person POV in the midst of a more pitched battle.

Other suggestions are welcome too.

Probably a bit too ambitious after the last project but after a few weeks of work it's finally resembling a finished product.

Here are also the last two projects for those interested.

Nice!

Oh boy, I miss MW2....

I actually like that idea :)

Another idea would be something to help show the scale of the mechs, infantry versus mechs in an urban environment perhaps?

Here's a bit of a progress update. I've decided to try and go with the overgrown ruins of an old military base in a kind of crater. I've made a few too many animations with just some rocks and dirt as the backdrop so it's time to do something a bit more interesting. The scale of the buildings and trashed vehicles should help to give an impression of how big the mechs are. I'm not certain what kind of battle will take place here yet but I want to at least have a neat environment first.

Update: A Clint, Grand Dragon, and Dervish stompin' around.

Some long abandoned mechs, ripe for salvaging.

Alright, environment is pretty much set. I'm going to begin working on the actual animation assets now.

As this is a simpler concept than some of the others my hopes is that this will take less time to finish.

If anyone is interested in providing voice over work feel free to let me know and I will send you an email address that you can direct that stuff towards. The exact script is currently WIP. As with other projects if I do not get any VO offers I will simply make this devoid of any dialogue.

This takes me back to MechWarrior 2 days. Really gives off nostalgic feels. Great work!

Dude!! This is rad! Thank you for the hard work!

It's great to know how scary mechs are from the point of view of aerial vehicles.

I've decided to try and do something that most of Battletech ignores which is add in some weird alien life to skitter about under the feet of the giant mechs. So far I've included four types of creature, a flying 'dart' the size of a hummingbird, a four legged crustacean the size of a housecat, a glider creature as big as a manta ray, and a bio-luminescent fly-like insect the size of a generic bird.

You can see some of the 'darts', gliders, and flies if you look closely in the above image. They are, however, so small compared to the mechs you'll really only get a good look when they're in motion.

Small progress update. Things are going slowly but surely. I've decided to keep VO to a minimum in this one, so I may or may not ask for volunteers this time around. This will be the most time I've put into the smallest animation yet.

Decided to include some melee combat for something different. I figure I have yet to really try it, so it should be fun to figure out. This here isn't quite there yet, but will give you an idea of what will be in the final product.

New animation is uploaded and now included in the topic post!

Unrelated, but I quickly whipped up a ST-46 Shuttlecraft for aerotech fans. Might come in handy in later projects.

A while we're on the topic of aerotech, I've whipped up a quick Scout Jumpship. Despite having literally hundreds of other BT models, I have never made a single jumpship. I intentionally made the Scout's hull slightly longer than the original drawing as I just found it to look a bit cooler. I'll continue to add some small greebles to help with the scale and flesh it out a bit more but figured I might as well post what I have.

This are awesome! I second the suggestion to have a battle from the POV of an infantry unit to show the scale of the 'Mechs. Maybe even a group of Elementals overtaking an IS 'Mech?

I'd like to do something like that sometime!

I decided to see what I could do with the Rapier. A notoriously ugly and asymmetrical abomination no one really likes.

You mean it's not? There's a Rapier in the below image. Bet no one can guess which ship it is.
