A very good question. Frankly, all four IS weight classes are very well rounded as is. On the Clan side however, there is a very noticeable lack of light mechs (the Clans currently have just over half as many light mechs as the IS). Which brings us to the poll question.

(A Piranha mech for Piranha games, perhaps?)

Wau no other selection. Nice bias.

Because pgi doesn't actually care about timeline; it's just convenient.
ATM and Falcon kicks.
Also this is a battlemech not an omni, so the engine could be changed.

I want a mech that can match a Spider's 151 kph speed (without speed tweak) and weigh only 20 tons (there are none on the Clan side). The fastest Clan light Omnimech is the Arctic Cheetah at 129 (without speed tweak). Our fastest Battlemech is the Jenner IIC, which can reach a Spider's speed, but weighs almost twice as much. Besides, the Piranha looks too awesomely fierce to ignore!

Not only would the Piranha be a fun addition cuz piranha games but it'd also give the clans a 20 tonner that can put out just under 10 DPS with it's 12 cmgs. The MG's are torso mounted so you could strip the arms to add ammo, etc.

If they gave me the piranha, I might just stop asking for a fire moth. 12 MGS would be glorious. Futile possibly, but glorious none the less...

PGI already said that melee combat and quad mechs are never going to happen, so no Hatchetman nor Goliath, unfortunately. Those would be interesting mechs to destroy.

I could see them going a Wasp/Stinger double pack for IS seeing as those two mechs are almost identical. That would be nice.

On the Clan side however, it is missing that 20 tonner.
Completing the Omnimech list would be nice, but until they can work out how to handle something as fast as the Firemoth/Dasher it's more likely to be something else.
I would prefer to see more unique mechs over IIC variants as I am not as keen on copies of.... would prefer more original chassis.

That said, my actual preference for the 20 ton clan spot is to break the mold and allow us to drop into battle as Elementals in Battlearmour.
Yes I know they aren't technically a mech, nor are they 20 tons individually.
However an Elemental in Battlearmour, when you look at the loadout, should weigh about 4 tons so the point of 5 (as per lore) could fit into that tonnage bracket and they are about as close to a mech a non-mech unit can be. (Plus how they combined with Omnimechs is a pretty significant point to make in regards to the clan arsenal.)
If we could have a redeploy option from the spectator view, or work out a nice way to control 5 at once I think it would make for a very unique addition to the game instead of just another fast light boating lots of lasers.

Huh, first I've time heard that 35 versus 30 tons is 'almost twice as much'.

My bad. I thought the Spider weighed only 20 tons. Okay, able to match the speed and weight of a Locust.

Only light on the list I would even consider getting would be the Piranha and that would be a distant fourth place

I would instantly buy the ultimate pack on either Wasp/Stinger, Valkyrie, Javelin.

NONE of these

How about something that is not a mech like:

- new maps
- FW back alive (atm it is ghost town)
- a reason to play a real scout
- new/better game modes
- etc.

New mechs are really nice but i agree this game needs to be fixed before more mechs are put into the cue to come out. Right now there is a very common and sad joke that everyone knows/hears a lot. "This Game is working as intended, would you like to buy a mech pack?". Seriously since that is the sad joke then WHY ON EARTH are ppl worried about what mech is coming out next for either side. Till this game is actually fixed and fun again then I personally do not care if pgi EVER releases another mech for this game. Right now all it seems pgi cares about is selling mech packs till the last person who plays this game REFUSES to buy any more and this game is dead.

While I completely agree with you, I am a realist. PGI is all about selling us mechs and pretty much nothing else right now. If they actually cared about the game then they would have fixed it long ago but did not. That tells you all you need to know. They have been half-assing it all along and that is not going to stop until either they destroy the game (but not before they squeeze as much out of our wallets as they can) or sell it. So I am just playing up to their sole motivation in regards to the game: Money. Simple as that.

For those that missed the last podcast.
Adding new mechs to the game is something that will be done every month and will continue to be done.
It has no bearing or impact on the development of other features.
Enjoy that we have more mechs in this game than any other and that there is still more to be added. There are plenty of requests still out there for new mechs and it's a bit of fun to speculate on what might be next.

For other features, sure, lets get more done in Faction Play, keep adding bits to the game and updating older elements.
In the pipeline we have:
- A new game mode for quick play.
- The revamp of Assault
- More changes incoming for Faction Play.
- An update of the Skill trees
.....and probably more we haven't yet heard about.

With PGI's track record, I am not about to get my hopes up.
