I want us to keep rolling out additional Clan/Merc Decals in the future, but at the moment these are the only ones I can safely guarantee. The artists are at full capacity with other tasks at the moment so I'll be taking care of the Decals listed above when time allows, based heavily on the original designs. If anyone is wondering why these can't be thrown together for April - or why May isn't a full guarantee - it's because the Decals need to be redrawn and iterated a few times to work well with the Decal system.
So making the initial emblem may be fairly straightforward, but it needs to be tested in the Decal system and adjusted a few times over. Testing a Decal on larger 'Mechs with more surface area is pretty easy, but smaller 'Mechs are the real test-case.
I'll do my best to make sure the Decals are as faithful as possible while remaining readable at various sizes.

Here's a peek at the Clan Coyote Decal, still in the iteration phase. Went for an Alpha Galaxy-style pattern for the Adder and paired the Coyote Decal with the Dagger Star to try for an Alpha Galaxy emblem on the leg.

I am curious whether PGI will add the Dagger Star faction symbol again for Clan players who are not part of the "Big 4" Clans? Or if you guys will have to keep using the symbol of the "Big 4" Clan that is most idealistically aligned with your Clan (as you have been).

That is what I did for the Nova Cats. While there is little outside of a shared love of felines that is similar between the Jags and Cats, the Nova Cats were forced to be in the same Invasion Corridor as the Smoke Jaguars. Not that it matters, now, with the consolidated invasion corridors. I entertain myself with the fact that the logo I sport as a "Mercenary Jaguar" is a decapitated Smoke Jaguar. It seemed poetic, considering what those monsters did to a dadga feline......

I refuse to be a loyalist to any Clan but Nova Cat, however.

If PGI could add the Merc Corps logo, they should be able to do it for the Clans. Back in the day we used to have this symbol in game:


Although I doubt that PGI would return this symbol, it would make sense to give clan loyalists logo the Merc Life. All they would have to do is call the Clan Merc Corps "Reserve Clan or Clan Reinforcements". Even better, they could have these if they wanted to. Even change the Clan Merc Corp logos into these:


But it seems highly unlikely that they would do that.

Also as ridiculous as this sounds this is mostly the reason I stay away from the Merc Life:

All this says, is "I'm an Inner Sphere Unit with the Clans".

OFH is effectively dead and I will now embrace my Clan Coyote roots, regardless of how I feel that PGI has handled Clan tech. Obviously, I have an interest in this clan even though I chose my pseudonym before I knew that Steele was a Clan Coyote blood name. I will sign up for the Clan and I will "officially" win my blood name (not tonight, I have to watch the Expanse season finale).
