Hello all,
I am not really very familiar with the Battltech universe but I was looking through all of the mechs the other day in game and unless I am blind I noticed that every single mech appears to have a masculine frame.

By that I mean mechs have bulky arms and chests, overall proportions and designs that appear much more like a "guy" than a girl. Some way more tough guy looking than others.

I was curious, is there space in the game for feminine looking mechs?

If anyone has played warframe for instance, that is a good idea of the kind of thing I mean, having both masculine and feminine frame designs.

Well consider that these machines come in at several dozen tons at a time, the materials to support that much weight would need to be fairly bulky. If they were feminine as you describe. The mechs would be proportionally off.

That being said, the Clan mechs to me seem more feminine, being the havE more curves to them. The right sized curves ;)

The fact that it even matters is mind blowing. Its a game based on big robots, where you get into the cockpit and shoot other big robots. There are plenty of female pilots in lore and a number of their hero mechs in game. As far as I know, there is no such thing as a "feminine looking" mech and I don't see much of a point to bringing gender equality into mech design either.

But but all mechs must be equal!!! So half of the mechs should have boobs that shoot lazors, and the rest should fall in line with atlas and its magnificent manliness!

Not many. Battletech started as a 'Rip Off' of Japanese anime, but it quickly veered off into its own territory, and that territory uses the word 'heavy' a lot. And heavy is not very feminine.

Neither are chicken legs, of course.

There's only one that I can think of that's kind of lady-like, and it's absolutely hideous. If the Urbie is R2-D2, this thing is a C3-PO that got got hit with the ugly stick a billion times. My mind has even reflexively blocked out it's name, so I can't even google it and show you.

Well, they do let us put lipstick on our mechs. So there's that.

Everyone knows Atlas is too busy holding up the maps to be played. The Zeus will smite you with LRMs for your insolence.

Hold on. Is that supposed to be the pilot standing next to that protomech? I thought in lore clan protomech pilots were permanently entombed in their protomechs and hooked up to control the protomech with their nervous system. Unless I'm mistaken a protomech pilot cannot leave their protomech.

Oh God, has the 'Any Diversity is Mandatory Diversity so Diversity is Bad' crowd already sunk their teeth into Battletech?

Can you all wait a week or something? So we can enjoy it before you come piss all over it?

Any imagined challenge to their also imagined alpha man status is bad. Not just diversity.
