I vaguely remember them saying that logins will only apply for 24 hours, way back when. However I don't believe that it is 24 hours from when you log in, but more they just log everyone out at a given time of the day. Having said that I have had to re log multiple times a day so it could just be completely random for all I know.

That said, I understand how you feel, and I wish there was an option to stay logged in until you manually logout. However, I don't think that will ever become an option, as someone is apparently bent on forcing you to remain active on the website or have to reauthenticate periodically. Although, do hope that they eventually lengthen the limit to at least 3 to 6 hours, as it does seem a touch abusive in terms of bandwidth and server strain to keep throwing people to the login screen.

It is when you come back the next day around the same time, exactly 24 hours later, type up a long post, hit reply... and the whole thing disappears because the forums logged you out in the time you took to write the post.

It is a big deal, a stupidly annoying big deal.
Just logged in, played a game, now mm is searching for another game and oh wonder i was logged out again...
.. it becomes even more annoying when the site is forcing a logout while i am typing a wall of text.
Of course, the site only tells me to log back in after i clicked post and can access my text again.

But hey, not like pgi is reading the forums anyways.

For me, my bookmark was suddenly missing the "s" in https://
... so every time I clicked the bookmark, at acted like I was logged out. Put the "s" back in, and it was fine again. Dunno how that happened.

Yeah, lots of sites now require 'https' (HTTP Secure Mode) these days in order to access them. I'm rather sure everyone prefers not to have third parties remotely sniffing their connections, right?
