What is tank facing?
In one of my many matches as "Lucky Star" I heard some give a player named dragon heck,
This was said, "Dragon quit tank facing!"
Puzzled I asked "What is Tank Facing?"
Dead silence.
It was like someone farted and everyone lost their will to speak.
So I said, "Never mind, I will google it."
Well that yielded no info what so ever!
Just some silly talk of over heating and turning having a narrow side profile.
So Is there anyone out there who can tell me why someone would get heck for "Tank Facing"
I did ask in two follow up matches, and no one answered.
Sorry, this is puzzling me way too much.
Thanks for your help.

Hello.

In MechWarrior Online, "tanking" means taking damage.

Seems they got the term wrong, it's not 'tank facing', it's 'face tanking'.

When you're face tanking you're standing in the open to make your shots while getting shot back by the other team for far more damage. In the meanwhile you are also not torso twisting to help spread damage on your mech.

This will quickly lead to ones destruction.

So in essence you're trying to catch all damage with your FACE, which is never a good idea. Posted Image

Thank you for the info. My mind can now rest, with ease. Now back to warming up my ER PPC's. Hope all of you have a happy new year!

Facetanking = staring straight at the opponent. NOT a good idea. At all. Worst case is that you get cockpit shotted, best case is that you get drilled straight through the CT.

Whenever I hear the words "face-tanking," I have in my head the picture of Rocky Balboa when he gets pummeled in the face by Ivan Drago because his arms are never up. Hey it worked for him right? Posted Image

It's funny because someone in our unit asked what "face-tanking" was the other day. I could not help but smile.
