Not sure if this is the correct forum for this. But what about buying the rights from microsft and own the IP then make this game crossplatform and whatever else that frees you to do. It would be nice if this were on other OSes. Especially if Vulcan and other things work out.
I wonder how much it would cost for them to buy it. Maybe if it's not obscene they could get a fundraiser for it. And make a promise if the fundraiser fails they will reserve the money to try to buy the IP with further fund raisers and funds.

This was discussed at MechCon.
Smith and Tinkler (or was it PGI?) was *this close* (squeezes fingers) to doing that around 2010 and someone higher up in Microsoft went "nope" and change negotiations to a license only.
