Last month, ManaValkyrie told us that he can no longer be our overly generous sponsor.

Today, the lease ran out and the House Kurita Teamspeak server finally died.

So, where do we go, now?

Discord?.. That's an option and they do have a standalone download with push-to-talk, now..

https://discordapp.com/download

..but people have personally told me that they hate Discord and will not use it.. so that will split our tiny community.

Comstar?..

na1.mech-connect.net

..although it's organization is wretched. Really, people that set up Teamspeak servers should go look at how neat and user-friendly Dane's FRR TS is set up.

Now that factions are pretty much meaningless (outside of the ISvsIS battles that Russ swears will happen, one day,) and we can form FP groups with other IS factions.. We really need an all encompassing InnerSphere Teamspeak server.. but, we don't have it, yet.. so, where will you turds be hanging out?

Alright, assuming the units want it I will begin transitioning my hub from an FRR hub to an FRR/Kurita alliance Hub.

I'd like to work through this process with whatever Kurita leadership remains so it can be done as smoothly as possible and in such a way to make the new Kuritan's welcome.

If you do set it up as a FRR/Kuritan alliance hub, are individual units going to get their own rooms? Pretty sure NS still has their own hub but our (9th Sword) TS closed down a few months ago and we were using the HK one until...well, I guess today evidently.

Kurita units will get the same level of authority as FRR units. Your own channels and some admin and moderator privileges.

I am currently remodeling the FRR Hub as we speak, I've renamed it to the Rasalhague Military District. Kind of..harkening back to the days when the FRR and Kurita were unified. I've also been talking with NS to get them over here as well so we'll have the strength of two factions!

If any of you are around right now.. come over and I can give you guys permissions and get your channels set up.

I first got my taste of organized play through the Kurita hub. To see it go is truly upsetting. I am willing to join any form of mass communication, be it Mumble, Vent, Discord, etc. give me a direction, and I will march!

I was on the FFR ts this morning, dropping with MJ12 and the like.

Thanks for the hospitality, we'll leave our dirty shoes at the door as we enter... ;)

So what will be the location of the Kurita Units on the new server?

FRR Hub | TS3 | frrhub.ddns.net:9725 | PW: Dragon

Many units already have their loyalist unit rooms there.

They have a weekly scheduled drop at 10pm. Sometimes they even have two full 12 mans going. and usually.. or you can jump into running dropships and ask if they have a spot. NA-afternoon is when I see most people online. Look for the longship channel rooms.

IS can FP group with any other IS faction. Having both of us on the same server strengthens the community by adding to our pool of players, especially in non-Sea times, which Kurita seems to specialize in.

This sounds like a good idea until some Space Viking soaks perfect sushi in lye water for a week to "make it better".

Then it's going to be hawt hawt Samurai on Viking action.
