Is there a reason that the MLX doesn't have a kill counter? Granted I don't always get too many kills with it. But, come on, can we have something else besides an in cockpit ashtray?

Fixed! - Not really, I used Photoshop to add this kill counter.....

My bet is that it does have one, it's just off-screen unless you actually use ctrl to look around the cockpit. I don't know though. I'm not home right now, otherwise I'd drop into the testing grounds with mine and look around the cockpit.

Yeah, the designers (rightfully) assumed it wasn't necessary given how extraordinarily crappy the MLX is.

Forgot to mention that. I did check around the cockpit, but still nothing.

I'd happily remove all the kill counters and other useless monitors from my mechs.
All they do is obstruct the view. Posted Image

I just realized what I need in my cockpit. A little stock market counter showing up-to-date rises and falls. Obviously it would just be looping gibberish, but damn I want that in my cockpit now.

You sure it isn't under the minimap, by chance? That questionable placement is the case in the Executioner. Spent a good minute and a half trying to see it, giving up, then stumbling across it before finding it.

Wait, people actually get kills in their MLX's? Who knew, huh? Pretty hard not to get 11 assists in a normal match.

I think it would be revolutionary if they listed information about your mech
Like where you have ammo loaded, or if any of your heatsinks were destroyed, or submerged in water

Maybe it gets added once somebody get a kill in it. Posted Image

Until then it is just too depressing to have that monitor in such a mech. Posted Image

because its so optimised and tiny there was simply no space left to add another screen to the cockpit. "Mysth linx", when even unicorns are more common. Only in the clan sagas told to the little sibkos they were hunting down Dakkawhales.

How SciFi Battlemech Cockpits roughly would/should look like:

How they do look like:

And this is no joke: The cockpit artist said in an interview that was her inspiration.
I'm usually a nice person, but such incompetence should be fired immediately.

I prefer the bottom pic, though.
I just don't want the cockpit monitors obstructing the windows.

You PREFER 1950ies crude primitive mechanical cockpit interfaces?
Are delusional emotional associations really SO much stronger in people than a sense for practical AND elegant solutions?
This world never stops to suprise AND frighten me.
