Once again we are at a point where the OP'ness of one tech or the other is being contested. We have people calling out units for playing to the best tech/advantages. People are again telling other people to "get gud". All really constructive ways in which to get answers to the problems people perceive in FP.

So out of curiosity, here is a poll about why you play for the faction you play for.

My story: I started playing FP while on a quest to get better at the game. I discovered FP in was it....January? Something like that, ANYWAYS at first it was because I was invited to a unit, but (later) I discovered that the FRR was trying to make a unified drop deck. I also, really liked the FRR storyline, and their forum had a lot of activity, so, I hopped onto their TS, about the time my Rifleman Pre-order came in, and started working towards a 'stormtrooper' deck. The reason I went straight to stormtrooper and didn't bother with getting Thunderbolts (the recommended 'beginner mech' at the time) was because I had tried the trial Tbolt and I had hated it. So I bought some quickdraws, and I loved it (Even thought it mounts the same weapons it just...felt better idk) Then I worked my way up to black knights, and then I took part in stormtrooper drops.

After the drop-weight went to 250 tons I didn't play quite as much because the BK+3x QD deck got invalidated...and I didn't have the C-Bills or mech-bays to quickly switch to Grasshoppers. I stay in the FRR because they have cool people on their TS and they as a community try to improve themselves, they try to organize. They have friday warfare events, they try to involve newbies. Try to teach them.

That's why I play the faction I play, its the community that keeps me in this game (ironically) edit: but it's usually communities that keeps me playing games. This goes for any games I've played. That's why I don't play Titanfall2 as much which is an awesome game but if there is a community I haven't really found it.

My unit just goes where the money is. Last week it was Smoke Jag till the 30% dropped off now it's Laio. Next week we may be somewhere else.

My unit's been pretty staunch Jade Falcons, with the occasional faction hopping to try an get better fights, or back in the old days, for the occasional mech bay tour.

That said, I drop IS when they're not on all the time nowadays.
