Hello all,

I am an EU GMT+1 timezone player, playing mostly on evenings from 8pm onwards, and on weekends.
I am 40 years old now, played battletech when i was a kid, then almost all Mechwarrior games since MW2. I played MW3 and MW4 competitively with my own unit, the 13th Wolf Guards, which was quite successful (that's 15 years ago !).
I held up playing MWO for a while until recently when the release of the Unseen has caught my attention. I am currently almost mastering the Warhammer chassis, and the Blackjack. I got basics on one Marauder and i'll work on the Griffin and a few lights.
I love brawling and my most successful games see me spending a lot of SRM and AC ammo.. I can hold my own with lasers as anyone i guess, got a few energy builds, but these provide less excitement.
Now looking to be a grunt in a proper IS or Merc faction. I got TS3 and a proper headset, and i know how to play in a well organized unit as i led one in my time...

Evening Surefoot.

Independant Defense Industries are based in the EU with a core of extremely active players. While we are currently (the top) Kuritan Loyalists, we are normally Mercs taking short rotations both sides of the Tech divide. While we play to win, fun comes first.

Drop by IDI.enjin.com to say hi.

Brotherhood of the Hawk are more filthy Mercs and a good bunch of guys mainly based in the EU. They have a recruitment thread in the Mercenary recruitment forum.

Headhunters Phoenix Guard are another good group of guys based in the EU, I think they have a recruitment thread in the FRR recruitment thread, but a quick search should find it for you (sorry I can't be more help, on my phone).

I will suggest before jumping into anything, jump around the different Faction/Unit Teamspeak Hubs and see who you gel with (should be a stickied thread with them all in if you search for it). The vast majority of people are extremely friendly and helpful and it's always a good idea to make contacts around the Factions.

Thanks a lot for the detailed answer :) I'll have a look at these then.
Is there a way to drop with friends in quick matches ? Or only random strangers ? Most of the time i seem to end up with a completely clueless team, who just run in the line of fire one after each other and get spanked quickly.

you can form a group before dropping in quickplay. Note that if you do so, you will only play with other players that are also grouped up, so you may or may not see *gasp* coordination, tactics, and other shenanigans...

As Movin said, group up first (that is why you go to Teamspeak to find people to group with) and you'll find FW a remarkably different beast than if you solo it. The majority of people you meet are more than friendly and helpful, and will normally be very welcoming as everyone would much prefer to drop with someone who has made the effort to get on comms than random puggles.

Couldn't agree more. Unit play with comms is what it's all about. Head Hunters Blood Ravens are here if you want to join us for a few games. The IDI and HHPG are great groups also, see you on the battlefield.

Can back IDI.

Know most of the guys there. Dropped with them, against them, always good fun and a super sociable bunch.
Hit em up for sure.
