This scenario is beginning of the Clan campaign where the two teams will be playing out the Refusal War between Clans Jade Falcon and Wolf. This campaign is expected to last the next three weeks. This scenario will start on January 4th, at 930PM EST on the CJF TS3 server. Address is ts.clanjadefalcon.com, no password.

The battle of Tukayyid was over, and the Clans stood defeated. The outcome resulted in a 15-year truce where no Clan could move beyond Tukayyid and left Terra beyond their reach. The Crusader faction, in their frustration at the outcome of the battle, accused the leader of all Clans, ilKhan Ulric Kerensky, of genocide of an entire generation of Clan warriors by denying them the chance to prove themselves in the war to reestablish the Star League. By a thin margin, the Crusader faction won the vote in the Clan Grand Council that found Ulric Kerensky guilty and stripped him of his position. However, Ulric Kerensky outmaneuvered them by declaring a Trial of Refusal and bidding the entirety of Clan Wolf.

This scenario will consist of five rounds and the teams will be fixed throughout the scenario. Inner Sphere Mechs will not be allowed. Balance will be achieved by giving the losing team an extra five tons per Mech in the next round. Additionally, duplicate variants will not be allowed two rounds in a row. For example, if one person brings a Mist Lynx Prime, that team cannot use a Mist Lynx Prime in the next round. Hero Mechs will not be allowed.

The Campaign

ROUND 1 – COLMAR: CUTTING TEETH

Map: Canyon Network

Time of Day: Random

Average Tonnage: 45 tons per player

The opening battle of the Refusal War takes place on Colmar. Elements attached to Clan Wolf’s Beta Galaxy are facing off against the 12th Falcon Regulars. The Wolf commander has been assigned to attack a Falcon garrison unit outside of the Marakaa Valley and has been given wide latitude in determining the most effective method of weakening the defending Falcons in anticipation of the main thrust by the 352nd Assault Cluster. In anticipation of the uneven terrain, both forces have allocated a Summoner OmniMech to be included among their forces.

Objective: The Wolf attackers must capture the Falcon’s radar installations outside of the Marakaa Valley to give the attacking aerospace fighters as much of an advantage as possible. Both teams must include at least one Summoner in any variant.

Mission 1:

Mode: Capture

The Wolf forces have identified five smaller radar installations that have been arrayed together to cover a wide area of aircraft identification and tracking.

Mission 2:

Mode: Domination

The Wolf forces have identified a deep space tracking array capable dropship movement between the system’s jump point and low orbit.

ROUND 2 – SUDETEN: TO THE BONE PART 1

Map: River City

Mode: Capture or Domination

Time of Day: Falcon’s choosing

Average Tonnage: 75 tons per player

SaKhan Phelan has led Clan Wolf’s Delta Galaxy in an attack on Sudeten. To counter the superior number of the Falcon defenders, he has split his forces into two groups. The first force has been tasked with attacking the port city of Webster to buy time for an ambush to be set on the by faster lighter Mechs on the continent of Dargoth. To ensure the Falcons are delayed long enough, the Wolf force attacking Webster must fight the Falcons on their terms. Considering the fight will take place in an urban setting, both sides have included a Hunchback IIC among their force dispositions.

Objective: The defending Falcons have the luxury of choosing the time and type of battle that will be fought here. Both sides must include a single Hunchback IIC (no bloody, A, B, or C).

ROUND 3 – SUDETEN: TO THE BONE PART 2

Map: Forest Colony

Mode: Skirmish or Assault

Time of Day: Wolf’s choosing

Average Tonnage: 50 tons

The true purpose of the Wolf’s attack was not to destroy the Falcon garrison while in the city of Dargoth, where the Falcons held the advantage, but rather to lure them out to the Dargoth Plains where his Wolves would be able to dictate the terms of the battle. While the Falcons are confident in their superiority over the Wolves, they can see when they are being led into a trap. Both sides expect the rough terrain and heavily forested area will give the side with the ability to provide accurate indirect fire an advantage in the upcoming battle and have outfitted their Mechs with LRMs.

Objective: The Wolf team will be able to choose the time and type of battle that will be fought here. Additionally, every Mech on both teams much include at least 20 LRM tubes.

ROUND 4 – ZOETERMEER: PASSING THE TORCH

Map: Mining Colongy

Mode: Skirmish or Domination (Wolf’s choice)

Average Tonnage: 40, 55, or 70 tons (Falcon’s Choice)

While the former ilKhan, Ulric Kerensky, led a main thrust of Wolves in attacking the planet Zoetermeer, he assigned a smaller force of Wolves to issue a batchall against a small contingent of Falcon defending an orbiting factor for dropship parts. Considering the proximity of this factory to the truce line, the destruction of this facility is a priority of Ulric Kerensky in his effort to weaken the Falcons and delay their renewal of the invasion. Considering the relatively low escape velocity of the orbital facility, both sides have wisely chosen not to include jump capable Mechs in their bids.

Objective: The attacking Wolves will first declare their intentions (game mode) and then the Falcons will declare they tonnage with which they intend to oppose the Wolves with. Neither force may use Jump Jet equipped Mechs.

ROUND 5 – BAKER 3: HIDE-AND-SEEK

Map: Caustic Valley

Mode: Previously defeated team’s choice

Average Tonnage: 65 Tons per Player. There is no bonus for the previously defeated team in the last round.

By traveling along the bottom of a super-heated river fed by hot springs, a small force of Wolves, led by Natasha Kerensky, has managed to conceal the heat signatures of their Mechs and are now in a position to attack the Falcon’s command center on Baker 3. While most of the Mechs of that surprise attack follow Kerensky’s lead in an attack on the Falcon’s command center, a smaller detachment of Wolves must engage the Falcon defenders directly to buy the outnumbered Wolves enough time to destroy the command center and escape to the dropships.

Objective: There is no tonnage bonus in the final round. The previously defeated team will be able to choose the game mode for the final round. Both teams must include a Direwolf in their force.

FAQs
Q:Where can if find information on the different tech level loadouts?
A:Tips and information on the stock Mech matches can be found on the official forums here.

Q:Do I need to build the Mechs myself?
A:No, there's an option in the private lobby that temporarily resets your Mech back to the stock loadout. HOWEVER (!), you do need to have a valid build on your Mech. That means, it needs an engine, enough heatsinks, and at least one weapon. If your Mech has a red icon in the Mech Lab, it's missing something.

Q:Do I need to own the Mech to play with it in a stock match?
A:Yes. If you're missing Mechs for a tech level (see the forum link above), you can take a trial Mech and their champion build will be reset to the correct stock build.

Q:Are there any restricted Mechs?
A:Only Clan Mechs will be allowed. No hero Mechs.

Q:Will this be streamed for me to watch?
A:You can watch it from my point of view here: https://www.twitch.tv/jfc_seth.

This scenario is the second of the Clan campaign where the two teams will be playing out the Refusal War between Clans Jade Falcon and Wolf. This campaign is expected to be completed next week. This scenario will take place on January 11th, at 930PM EST on the CJF TS3 server. Address is ts1.housesteiner.com, no password. (The CJF TS3 server is shutting down as my unit is moving to use Discord)

The Wolf forces had split themselves up into three groups, one each led by Star Colonel Ulric Kerensky, Khan Natasha Kerensky, and saKhan Phelan Ward. Each battle group had struck out at Falcon forces throughout the Jade Falcon Occupation Zone. Their objective was two part; to repudiate the vote in the Grand Council that would resume the invasion of the Inner Sphere and to damage the Falcon touman so severely that they would be in no condition to resume the invasion even if they wanted to. To that end, the Wolf leadership had a hidden motive as well. While the majority of the Crusader leaning forces threw themselves as the Jade Falcon units, Wolf warriors who followed the Warden philosophy withdrew in secret to the Inner Sphere under saKhan Phelan Ward. In this respect, it was hoped that not only would the Jade Falcon crusaders would be crippled beyond being able to resume the invasion, but that the Wolf crusaders would as well. In the meantime, those who wanted to protect the Inner Sphere would escape to Morges nearly unscathed.

This scenario will consist of five rounds and the teams will be fixed throughout the scenario. Inner Sphere Mechs will not be allowed. Balance will be achieved by giving the losing team an extra five tons per Mech in the next round.

The Campaign

ROUND 1 – DEVIN: INTO THE STORM

Map: Terra Therma

Mode: Assault or Capture (Falcon’s Choice)

Average Tonnage: 45 tons per player

Khan Natasha Kerensky, searching for Falcon units to bring destruction upon, has set her gaze upon the 2nd Falcon Jaegers posted to the Devin system. Fortune favors the Falcon defenders as a sail array malfunction on one of the Wolf jumpships delays their attack for three days. The additional time has allowed the Falcon’s to choose how best to deploy their garrison forces.

Objective: The Wolf attackers, due to their delay in deployment, must fight on the Jade Falcon’s terms. The Jade Falcon side may choose to deploy a mobile field base or to spread their base’s equipment around the map. Both sides must include at least one Timberwolf. This tonnage will not be counted as part of each team’s total available tonnage.

ROUND 2 – DENIZLI: STING LIKE A BEE IN A HURRY

Map: Mining Collective or HPG Manifold (Wolf’s Choice)

Mode: Domination

Average Tonnage: 55 tons per player

Khan Natasha Kerensky is pushing her forces to fight at an unrelenting pace, stunning the Falcon leadership at the speed of her advance through their space, but also greatly fatiguing her own forces and quickly depleting her own reserves of parts and ammunition. On Denizli, Khan Kerensky has chosen to forgo the time-consuming process of damaging the Falcon’s on the planetary surface and has chosen instead to attack the depot and its attendant garrison on the planet’s moon.
Objective: The Wolf forces must quickly strike at the Falcon units within the Denizli system while their jumpships recharge and are ready to jump at to their next, and perhaps, most important target so far: Twycross. Due to the strain on demand for Mechs both sides have faced so far, both must include two secondline battlemechs in their forces, a Jenner IIC (standard) and an Orion IIC-A.

ROUND 3 – EVCILER: IN THE LINE OF FIRE PART 1

Map: Alpine Peaks

Mode: Capture or Domination (Wolf’s choice)

Average Tonnage: 45 tons

While Khan Natasha Kerensky’s forces were fighting a blitzkrieg type battle throughout the Jade Falcon OZ and saKhan Phelan Ward’s forces were making their way out of Clan space, Star Colonel Ulric Kerensky had his own goal in mind: attacking the Jade Falcon’s OZ headquarters on Wotan. To that end, he had committed only token forces to the Leskovik system following his victory on Zoetemeer. His hope had been to skip the Evciler altogether. However, saKhan Vandervahn Chistu had deployed a sizeable garrison of nearly four clusters, practically an entire galaxy, of Mechs to meet him in the system. Star Colonel Ulric Kerensky’s primary goal is to damage as much of the Falcon touman as possible, and so cannot pass up such an opportunity.
Objective: The Wolf team will be able to initially dictate the terms of engagement on Evciler. Anticipating the need for speed and maneuverability, both sides have committed a pair of Shadow Cat Omnimechs to the battle.

ROUND 4 – EVCILER: IN THE LINE OF FIRE PART 2

Map: Polar Highlands

Time of Day: Dawn

Mode: Skirmish or Assault (Falcon’s choice)

Average Tonnage: 60 tons

While searching for additional Jade Falcon units to engage, the Falcon units have managed to lay an ambush for the Wolf attackers in the cold and dark plains of the Polar Highlands. It is nearly dawn when the Wolf forces stumble across the waiting Jade Falcons.
Objective: The Jade Falcon team can choose to attack the Wolf forces directly or to destroy their supply line, though at the cost of exposing their own. Both sides have chosen to deploy a Mist Lynx, knowing the Active Probe can be used to find the other force quickly.

ROUND 5 – TWYCROSS: BLOOD AND SAND

Map: Tourmaline

Mode: Previously defeated team’s choice

Average Tonnage: 65 Tons per Player. There is no bonus for the previously defeated team in the last round.

After pushing her forces quickly through the previous two systems, Khan Natasha Keresnky has chosen to goad the Jade Falcon’s into a trap on Twycross. Knowing that Twycross was the place of the Falcon’s greatest defeat at the hands of the Inner Sphere and source of everlasting shame, Natasha hoped to lure front-line troops to face her to prevent further dragging the Jade Falcon’s name through the sand of Twycross. The two forces meet outside of the Great Gash, the location where an entire Cluster of Falcons was destroyed a trap by a single Inner Sphere warrior. If she can lure the Jade Falcons into following her into the gash, where she has set a trap of her own, the shame and disgrace laid upon the Jade Falcons would be unmatched in Clan history.

Objective: There is no tonnage bonus in the final round. The previously defeated team will be able to choose the game mode for the final round. Both teams must include a single Direwolf and a single Summoner in their forces. If the pilot of the Jade Falcon’s Summoner manages to destroy the Wolf’s Direwolf, you win.

This scenario is the third and last of the Clan campaign where two teams will be playing out the Refusal War between Clans Jade Falcon and Wolf. This scenario will take place on January 18th, at 930PM EST on the House Steiner server. Address is ts1.housesteiner.com, no password.

Natasha Kerensky, the Black Widow and Khan of Clan Wolf, is dead. Her Dire Wolf, “Widowmaker”, remains on Twycross as a silent monument to its famous pilot. SaKhan Phelan Ward has retreated to his Inner Sphere homeworld of Morges with the bulk of the remaining Clan Wolf. Only Star Colonel Ulric Kerensky’s force remains within the Jade Falcon Occupation Zone. Though hopelessly outnumbered, the former ilKhan’s goal isn’t to destroy Clan Jade Falcon, but rather to cripple their ability to mount an effective invasion force. To that end, his plan has worked fantastically. His Wolves have caused outsized damage in each encounter with the Jade Falcons. However, time and supplies are running out for Ulric Kerensky, and his best hope to delay a renewed invasion of the Inner Sphere is to strike directly at the Falcon’s leadership.

This scenario will consist of five rounds and the teams will be fixed throughout the scenario. Inner Sphere Mechs will not be allowed. Balance will be achieved by giving the losing team an extra five tons per Mech in the next round.

The Campaign

ROUND 1 – WOTAN: IN THE FALCON’S NEST

Map: Crimson Strait

Mode: Skirmish or Assault (Wolf’s Choice)

Average Tonnage: 45 tons per player

After their victory on Evciler, Star Colonel Ulric Kerensky quickly jump his forces into and then out of the Butler system. While the Jade Falcon forces there were confused at his unexpected action, Ulric Kerensky had another goal in mind: destroying the headquarters of Clan Jade Falcon and killing their leadership. To that end, his forces have rendezvoused with Natasha Kerensky’s remaining forces in an attack on Wotan. Ulric Kerensky has declared he will lead a Galaxy of BattleMechs to destroy every Falcon he can on Wotan and has accepted a challenge to single combat from saKhan Vandervahn Chistu.

Objective: The Wolf team can choose to destroy the defenders or to attempt to capture and destroy their headquarters. Due to the depletion of war materiel on both sides, both teams must include two second line Clan BattleMechs.

ROUND 2 – WOTAN: STRIKE AT THE HEART

Map: River City

Mode: Domination

Average Tonnage: NA

While the bulk of his forces engaged the Jade Falcon defenders, Star Colonel Ulric Kerensky and his star of Medium Mechs has located the star of heavy Mechs led by saKhan Vandervahn Chist. As agreed, both warriors will engage each other in personal combat in a circle of equals. In this solemn matte, let no one interfere!
Objective: Both teams will need to choose a single person to represent their respective warrior in this battle. If possible, the pilot playing the part of Vandervahn Chistu should pilot an Executioner and the pilot playing the part of Ulric Kerensky should pilot a Gargoyle. Otherwise, a Trial Warhawk can be used. The rest of the Wolf team should be in Trial Mediums and the rest of the Wolf team should be in Trial Heavies.

ROUND 3 – MORGES: A HIGH PRICE TO PAY

Map: Alpine Peaks

Mode: Domination or Capture (Falcon’s choice)

Average Tonnage: 55 tons per player (the defeated team from round 1 get their bonus here)

While Natasha Kerensky and Ulric Kerensky spent their forces attacking the Jade Falcon touman throughout their occupation zone, saKhan Phelan Ward had led the bulk of the Wolf warriors who believed in the Warden philosophy to the Inner Sphere. Those of the Warden camp, to which all three Wolf leaders belonged, did not believe it was the Clan’s goal to invade and conquer the Inner Sphere, but rather to protect it. Clan Jade Falcon was staunchly in the Crusader camp, believing that reviving the Star League through force of arms was the ultimate goal of the Clans. Having defeated the outnumbered Wolves within their occupation zone, the Jade Falcons have tracked the remnants of Clan Wolf to the Inner Sphere world of Morges, the homeworld of saKhan Phelan Ward and the home to the Kell Hounds, the famous Inner Sphere mercenary unit which Phelan Ward was captured from. The Jade Falcons land on the southern continent near Icegrief Pass. However, they are surprised to see that they are opposed by forces of the Kell Hounds mercenary unit, rather than warriors of Clan Wolf.
Objective: The Jade Falcons, surprised to learn that the Wolves have combined forces with the Kell Hounds, must capture the southern communication center or one of its smaller satellite relays to learn more about the disposition of forces on planet. The Kell Hounds have gained a tremendous amount of Clan salvage in their previous battles on Luthien and can field an entire team of Clan Mechs. However, they may include a Wolfhound and/or an Archer of any variant, including the Hero Archer.

ROUND 4 – MORGES: BROKEN HOPE

Map: Polar Highlands

Mode: Capture

Average Tonnage: 35 tons

The Jade Falcon forces had been ordered to equip ballistic weapons in favor of energy weapons in the drive to cause as much damage as possible to the Wolves. As their main force marched from their main base in the abandoned city of Broken Hope in search of Clan Wolf units to engage and destroy, Khan Phelan Ward sees an opportunity to put a decisive end to the invasion by seizing their resupply depot recently established at Carson’s Rift.
Objective: The Wolves must capture or destroy as much of the ammunition supply depots as they can to halt the Falcon’s invasion of Morges. Because of the tremendous strain on parts and supplies, both the Jade Falcon and Wolf team must include a single Inner Sphere Mech salvaged from, or in the Wolf’s case acquired from, the Kell Hounds on planet.

ROUND 5 – MORGES: DEATH FROM A THOUSAND CUTS

Map: Frozen City

Mode: Skirmish

Average Tonnage: 60, 65, or 70 Tons per Player. There is no bonus for the previously defeated team in the last round.

Despite the outcome of the battle at Carson’s Rift, the Jade Falcons simply do not possess the repair and rearm supplies needed to destroy the combined forces of Clan Wolf and the Kell Hounds on planet. But that does not mean they will retreat. Instead, the Jade Falcons will inflict as much damage as they can on the Wolves and their Kell Hound allies before succumbing to the inevitable. To that end, the Jade Falcons have rallied at their base in the abandoned city of Broken Hope knowing the frequent blizzards and partially buried buildings will hamper the numerically superior Wolf/Hounds force to a greater degree than their own force.

Objective: There is no tonnage bonus in the final round. The previously defeated team will be able to choose the tonnage for the final round. Both teams must include at least one Inner Sphere Mech in their team.

Where To Join In
