Yeah, I know, Tina said that they had already planned out the events for January. But still, the last event ended on January 4, and today is January 18. That's two weeks with no real incentive to play the game. I mean, discussing the roadmaps and the upcoming skill tree is fun, but forum warrioring is no replacement for mechwarrioring. Is there any chance for us to get another event before the January patch and the Bushwacker release?

They always announce new event after or with new mech release like usual.

Events usually start/are announced on thursday/friday (timezone dependant) its bloody tuesday/wednesday wait till this weekend for it to have been half a month, and the next event will probably bushwacker launch. in PGI's eyes thats 2 events in january and i dont think we often get more than 2 events a month.

Don't even get me started on the subject of FW. I never thought I'd utter those words, but with the recent developments, I'm pretty close to totally losing interest in Faction Play. Events are really the only thing that are keeping me in the game right now, but I guess PGI have decided to take a long winter break after the series of events they held in November and December...

No, they're waiting until their "metrics" tell them that the population of skilled, experienced players has shifted to the IS. Then the next event will amount to "hunting Clan potatoes with their nerfed rides."

I call it Faction Roulette. You keep on dropping with your unit mates and farming pugs, until you face KCom 12-man. Or Kerensky forbid, the folks from SJR.

Yeah, that's exactly how I feel about FW these days. It used to be a lot of fun, but now you're either rolling IS pugs who wouldn't be able to put up a decent fight even if PGI gave them a 400-ton deck, or getting rolled by comp IS teams because they have a weight advantage and you can't do jack smack sh*t about it...

Next event will be the "The Great Easter Potato Hunt."
Can't wait for the potato leader board.

That might be difficult to set up. For starters, I have yet to see a clear definition of a "potato" Posted Image People talk about potatoes a lot on these forums, but I guess this term is as elusive as another classic one - "balance" Posted Image

Although I have to admit that the idea of a potato hunt does appeal to me. We've already had squirrel hunting events, so why not move from animals to vegetables?

Honestly, I'm enjoying the break from events.
For a while it was just getting ridiculous in my opinion.
I know in our group, we jump for joy when we get a Friday with plain old group drops and not having to worry about checking off achievements and getting particular items or scores done. Actually lets us relax, play whatever mech(s) we feel like, and enjoy the game.

Now, that said, we don't want events to become something rare, but a week event a month or so feels about right to me.
