So, out of curiousity. Is the "Highlander Burial" at all possible in MWO? Has anyone ever managed to carry out this manoeuvre?

For those who don't know, the "Highlander Burial" is a manoeuvre from BattleTech fluff/lore where a Highlander utilises its Jump Jets to land on an opponent crushing it with its colossal weight.

So, has anyone ever achieved this feat or seen it done in MWO?

edit: title altered to reflect my question being answered.

It's not possible in MWO due to how two mechs colliding work.

While you can damage eachother by collision, no meaningful damage will be dealt.

"Death from above" is a non-working mechanic, dude. It's right up there with melee.

Death from above is one of those really cool things in Battletech that PGI has deemed "impossible to replicate" in MWO. Like melee and inverse kinematics.

DFA only does normal collision damage, but depending on where your legs touch the enemy first, it might actually do some damage to the CT.

IIRC, there was a forumer that's landed on an Urbanmech using his Atlas and ended up killing it. But the Urbie was literally on its last legs and even a max range ERSL scratch would've taken him out, so he only needed to do a tiny tiny amount of damage.

Thank you for your replies, it's a bit of a shame but it makes sense. Since it has been
mentioned in the replies with hit detection being an issue, hence no melee I do recall
the mention of other elements such as DFA not being viable.

Thank you all for taking the time to reply.
