Why You Died..

1. Zoomed all the way in while brawling. While you may be able to read the serial number off of the enemy mechs laser, you probably do not see either the other two mechs shooting you or the wall or tree you are backed up against. Zoom out, put your zoom on your mouse wheel so you can see whats around you.
2. Front loading your armor with an XL engine. While metamechs is a good source of how to tweak out your mech for optimization, taking three critical hits to an IS mech with an XL engine from the rear side torsos will put you into the red category on your team.
3. Front loading armor part two: You usually have less armor on your back than your front. Turning your back to the opposing team is not a good idea. Light mechs have the advantage of speed, heavy and assault mechs become a shield for the opposing team. Do not run away, you may be able kill a mech or take off a side torso to help the other eleven players on your team.
4. Peeking an poking.,.move forward shoot, move back, and repeat. While this may sound like a good idea, new players tend to do this many times... in the same place. Experienced players in higher tiers will quickly pick up on this. Move around to different positions, the extra 1-3 seconds may save you from losing the right torso on your mech.
5. Consumables.. UAV, and Artillery/Air Strikes. Many (alot) new players dont have them. UAVs do many things: counter ECM, spot for LRMs, show which way mechs are moving, AND freak the other players out. Many other new players will stop to shoot a UAV even while fighting another mech. UAVs will also show you where other players are.. how many large lasers are shooting from where, and what type... Just remember those laser beams come from somewhere. Strikes.. how many LRM boats stand right next to each other? Usually more than one. 80k C-Bills can make a difference between wining and losing a match.
6. Last tip: Staying together. For newer players safety in numbers. Shoot the mech that other players are shooting. Gang up on the opposing players for more shooting fun. New players that run off by themselves usually find themselves out of a match pretty quick, yes we know there are always exceptions, but not everyone is Phaelen Kell or Natasha Kerensky. Two mechs shooting at one mech is good... three mechs shooting at one mech is better. Just do not stand on top of each other, stay about 100-200m from a team mate and shoot at what they do. You will have a much better match score at the end.
Again, this is mainly directed at newer players. After a few months of playing and getting a better feel for MechWarrior Online, newer players should have grasp for game mechanics which should hopefully lead to better damage and match scores.

Second of all, frontloading your armor assumes you know how not to get shot in the butt all game
Third of all, there are no engine crits in MWO
That is all

2. I'm on my SRM Brawler and it's Polar Highlands every second match
3. I go full potato and make

As noted, no (edited) harmful engine crits in MWO (edited slots act as crit buffers but nothing harmful actually occurs) there is simply a flag check, if all structural points are destroyed then the side torso is destroyed. Flag check, if isXL equipped - mech dead // if cXL equipped - 20% movement/now 40% heat penalty // if STD equip - no penalty.

Avoid peaking at steady intervals as experience players will also pick up on this pretty quickly.

While you are correct I could elaborate a bit more. The three slots count for crit rolls, so yes XL engine can take critical hits, however nothing happens.

Which is fine, since I readily admit, I won't beat most of them 1v1 face to face... but when they are Pug Dropping without their team to cover their 6, I'm more than happy to excise their kidneys.

1. Every time you die from shots to the front, increase your frontal armor by 1.
2. Every time you die from shots to the rear, increase your rear armor by 1.
How do you think your armor distribution will look after at least a week of this challenge?
