I believe the OP was not about finding a unit but finding a good unit. Which is difficult as a Wolf loyalist indeed. We solved that along time ago though. This post has drifted to trials of absorption and getting WTAU'D(Trademarked) now...... :)

Well you don't get a good match with them, or against then... So, I guess that's reasonably accurate

Only pilots I've seen do that did it to pugs as a pug, in other words when they thought it wouldn't ever matter/could get away with it/it getting back to people who matter.
In any event I did find a unit I'm enjoying dropping with greatly thanks to Naglinator's suggestion, even if I had to settle on the "Loyalist" part. Which is fine with me as most of the feared units are Mercs anyway and there's more c-bills in it, besides, a warrior should take every opportunity to hone oneself regardless of where the opportunity came from or who offered it. I appreciate everyone who took the effort to respond here.

I am not a fan of LBX, but you can AIM SRM's and LBX dude. sure, they spread, but the closer you get the more focused they get as well.

Perhaps your inability to notice this on your own is part of why you are having a trouble getting into a "decent" unit?

Mind you, I don't shoot LRMers on my team, although I have considered it. :D

yes I'm just tier 3 but when you're dropping with pugs and have less than 1000 drops it's not likely you have the games in to move up the tiers or the teamwork to actually win.

Ive played for about 6months or so now all up and have just come back after a year. I have 800 games under my belt and have been tier 2 now for a couple hundred, just under halfway to tier 1.

Once you get a build you really enjoy and that is effective and you know what you are doing, with heat management, weapon ranges, positioning, map awareness etc it's actually hard not to keep ranking up after each match. Regardless of games played or pugging etc.

The best and most unique thing about the ranking system in this game, is it is based on individual performance. I'm serious when i say here, that about 75% of my games that i lose, it shows at the end screen "=" to show i neither gained nor lost rank, because i must have performed at least decently, myself.

10% of losses actually, funnily enough, i still get the increase rank symbol "^" haha. Not trying to blow my own horn but i find it hard to actually lose rank or stay the same, just winning is guaranteed rank up most of the time and losing almost guaranteed to stay equal and sometimes rank up, rarely ranking down.

And this isn't META builds or only running premade or anything like that.

So i wouldn't worry what the numptys in tier 3 around you are or aren't doing, because you need to work on your personal performance as well. That, is why you are not ranking up. I generally find if you can make at least 500dmg that it's guaranteed rank up on win and rank staying the same on loss. i also personally believe that 500dmg is a good average to aim for, sometimes get unlucky and 400 maybe 300, sometimes lucky and go as high as 1000dmg+

And as per usual with situations like this there is the age old addage that if you get potatoes on your team, that there will be potatoes on the enemy team also, but you will notice that alot less when having fun and stomping them. Posted Image

So don't blame the rest of the team for not being able to rank up or being potatoes, get better yourself and you will soon hit tier 2 which gets alot better, but be careful what you wish for: The higher the tier you go, the harder you get punished for every little mistake and trade....
