And here is where I get somewhat lost. Do you have Mechs, that got their XP and GXP expenditure refunded only to find a "refresh" back to its "status quo" using those refunds was insufficient?

Yes it is insufficient, because where before I had a mastered and maxed out mech that in the new system suddenly only has 38/91 possible nodes unlocked. Therefore to max it out again I must grind out 1.5x (let's say it took 30 matches to master originally, it will take another 45) more matches in it for the XP and scrounge the c-bills for the node unlocks.

If I have to go back to re-level my old mechs before I can use them at full value again, then I will never buy another new mech with MC ever again. What would be the point? Even if i could work up the will to keep playing, it will be 12,000 hours or whatever before I can dream of maxing out all my mechs again.

BTW I would say broadly if they can't fit the skill tree on a single screen they have screwed up pretty bad. This is just a pain in the *** to use, navigate and interpret. It does not energize me to want to play this game at all.

- One positive thing here - new player can make 6 different mech and master them all without need to buy 3 mech of each type and master them all before take to FP... Now he can have 4-6 mastered mech. If choose them wisely.

Actually, the opposite is generally true...for FP with weight limits in place, you are often trying to go for the same chassis for 2 or 3 of your mechs in the deck, so if you have 2 or more variants of one chassis plus 2 or more of another to equal the 265 ton IS limit or 240 ton Clan limit, you are actually going to be needing more XP to master just those 4 mechs under the new system than you did under the old system. The new system works great if you only intend to own 1 variant of each type of mech, but beyond that it gets more expensive for the 2nd, 3rd, etc. in that same chassis than it was under the old system. A common IS drop deck, for example is 3 Grasshoppers or Warhammers and then a Griffin...3 fast heavies and the heaviest medium. Kanajashi has a video on Youtube detailing how the XP breaks down per mech under the old versus new system.

Your entire arguement is "disregard lore cause lol respawns"

nO....my entire argument is diregard lore because it has little place in a online realtime multi-player first person shooter.

Right now it costs a total of 128,750 xp to master 3 variants of the same mech (and a lot of people only master 1 or 2 variants and leave the others at veteran).

Under the new skill tree it costs 9.1 million credits and 136,500 xp to master a single mech. The grind has not gotten easier, it costs over 3 times as much xp to master a single mech now, and 9.1 million credits more.
