The suggestion is to make C mechs as superior as in tabletop games, and give IS mechs decent CB/XP boosts to reward people not afraid of challenge. Like in World of Tanks. Dunno if there were similar suggestions.

Yeah, make them god mode, that'll work. Seriously, people are way more prone to want to shoot fish in a barrel than to get annihilated on a regular basis. Dying and loosing won't give you big bucks anyway. Pug matches will end with the Clan Mechs being the last men standing and in faction play you will have your walkthrough. But that was the point, wasn't it? This proposal is basically paying people to be prey.
If you really want it to happen that way, you would have to go the whole nine yards:
If you really want it to happen that way, you would have to go the whole nine yards:
- Clan only vs. IS only pugs
- 2 Clan Stars vs. 3 Lances IS
- Clans will be penalized for violating Zellbrigen

If it would be true, quick games were whole KDK, but some people play lights, which are hard to master, some play mediorce mediums and simply terrible mechs such as STK.
Also, I'm not implying giving C weapons even more damage-to-weight ratio (it already corresponds with the background in some degree), it would be nice just to remove implausible quirks and ridiculous prolonged firing patterns, and make omnipods universal hardpoints as should be.

...which would have been even more idiotic.
When you start rolling a die to see where EACH of your weapons hit, then talk about tabletop like it matters.
Until then......not so much.
