I want to buy a couple of these mech packs but without the premium time, I just cant find a reason not to just wait till they are out for c-bills.

The P-time always sealed the deal for me as far as value.

Will all future Mech Packs be like this? With no P-time??

Also, I thought they were changing up mech packs since you dont need to master 3 variants anymore??

You can get the premium time with the Collector and Ultimate packs. Also, the premium time is ACTIVE and not banked like in other packs.

Yes, they are taking value out of the packs they want to sell just at the moment you won't need 3 variants of a chassis for mastering any longer. Smart move, eh?

Yeah that seems like a bad business move on their part. Easier to justify $20 on a mech pack when you need $15 to get 30 days premium. It's just a no brainer, $5 more I get mechs too.

That sucks. 20 bucks was easier to swallow...40 is too much for me personally to spend on a virtual item that i can get for free if i just wait.

Is this the new norm?? I really liked buying mech packs. =(

I hate to be one of "those guys" but i wont be buying mech packs anymore if that is the case. =(

I have 22,728 Hours banked, so personally i shouldn't be bothered. But i think the move itself is so earthshaking stupid that i really don't know what they are trying to do...

Oh, and the fact that they are offering all 4 packs for the same limitied time only is not _that_ smart, too. I mean, Ultimates are quite expensive, but offering 4 of them at the same time with only 1,5 months time to purchase with full preorder bonus... Even if people _want_ to buy all they probably simply _can't_. It's a videogame, after all and after stripping the PT and make it active, not banked like it used to be the revenue seems to be missing.

Another that made me want to stop is the loyalist rewards only counting collector packs.

Yeeeep. I spent way more than 2 collectors packs would cost, but apparently I didn't spend my money right for PGI.

This is probably exactly why they decided that it was too good of a deal.

They want players to really plunk down some cash for the new tech. Premium time bought seperately if you want to equip all your old mechs with light fusion engines and stealth armor, boi.

I guess that's one reason you also get fewer Mechs per buck in the higher cost packs...

If you buy everything you end up with infinite premium time. Wish there was an option for something else like the MC equivalent.

I guess it could be due to the permanent C-Bill boost cockpit items, which give you +10% when you use both (need collector's pack though). PGI has for a long time been worried about players making too many C-Bills, which is the reason why Skill Tree 1.0 was designed the way it was (C-Bills for leveling up and maximum of 6 consumables).

I don't think they had to be mutually exclusive to premium time though. People who spent a large amount of real money are SUPPOSED to earn in-game currency at a fast rate. That's the point of paying. Trying to slow down the earning rate of people that pay is really backwards....

That's Paulconomy v2 (or v9000 because they've ninja nerfed these things over time).

This time it's Premium.

I'd be more concerned about this if I didn't have over 3 years of premium time banked.
