Movie: The Ghost and Mr. Chicken
1967

Don Knotts plays the role of a bumbling reporter that is spooked by an old house. In the movie he writes an article on the house and is "tricked" into spending the night in the old manor. After falling down a coal chute he sets up in the living room for a good nights sleep. Thus a tapping on the wall leads him to the discovery of a hidden stair case and an old organ with blood stained keys that begins to play a malevolent tune. Frightened he runs out of the house. He later returns after a court hearing, is almost played for a bigger fool than he is, only he manages to save the girl and become a hero. In the end of the movie he gets the girl, marries her, and before they set off happily into the sunset, the church organ starts to play the haunted tune (with nobody at the keyboard).

This movie may be spooky to fun, however I thought it was funny as H e ! !. The old spooky house was well done, and would spook most teenagers even to this day should they have dared to enter into it's cobweb filled halls. While the movie might no thrill the teenagers or young adult of today, it is a fun fright filled tale that is safe to watch by the whole family so you really don't have to worry about any surprises popping on the screen should a younger viewer be present. Has a few vintage cars, an old spooky house, and features life before they days of cell phones, computers, and the typical (although loony) townsfolk walking around without an iphone in hand texting everybody.
