What about some mech trivia? I had a thread like this in mind for some time, writing down trivia stuff I found in Smurfys mech statistics mostly.

First of all there will be an overview of all mechs.
(I need to admit that I counted a champion mech as 'new variant', as another mech you can have in your mechbay additonal to the 'usual' variants)

Lights, 14 Chassis, 74 Mechs

Spoiler

Mediums, 21 Chassis, 132 Mechs

Spoiler

Heavies, 21 Chassis, 116 Mechs

Spoiler

Assaults, 19 Chassis, 117 Mechs

Spoiler

Altogether there are 75 different chassis and 439 different mech variants.
There are 47 IS chassis and 276 different IS mech variants.
There are 28 Clan chassis and 163 different Clan mech variants.

There are a lot of different ways of availability of the mech chassis.

Chassis with only three usual variants (Urbanmech for example).
Chassis with more than three usual variants (Wolfhound, Ice Ferret, Black Knight, Mad Dog, Gargoyle, Mauler).

Chassis with a Champion and usual variants (Panther, Mist Lynx, Crab, Shadow Cat, King Crab for example).
Chassis with Hero and usual variants (Kit Fox, Bushwacker, Rifleman, Archer for example).

Chassis with Hero, special and usual variants (Nova for example).
Chassis with Champion, special and usual variants (Zeus for example).
Chassis with Champion, Hero and variants (Locust, Raven, Vindicator, Hunchback for example).

Chassis with special variants (Jenner: Sarah's Mech, Black Jack, Wolverine: Legendary, Centurion: NCIX for example).
Chassis with special variants and usual variants only (Hellbringer for example).

Chassis with different special variants (Centurion, Summoner).
Chassis with two different Heroes (Phoenix Hawk, Dragon, Catapult).

Chassis with Champion, Hero, special variants and usual variants (Cicada, Black Jack for example).
Chassis with 9 different mechs (Special, Champion and Hero) and six variants (Cataphract, Stalker).

Mechs with 'Counterparts'.

IS Chassis with IIC counterpart in same weight class:
Jenner, Hunchback, Orion, Highlander

IS Chassis with IIC counterpart in another weight class:
Marauder (IS heavy but Clan assault)

Clan chassis with IIC counterpart (also Clan) in another weight class: Timber Wolf (coming soon, also former Clan heavy, now IIC chassis Clan assault).

Clan is missing the 20 ton step.

We have only one 20 ton mech (Locust)
We have two 25 ton mechs (1 IS, 1 Clan)
We have four 30 ton mechs (2 IS, 2 Clan)
We have seven 35 ton mechs (5 IS, 2 Clan)

We have two 40 ton mechs (1 IS, 1 Clan)
We have five 45 ton mechs (3 IS, 2 Clan)
We have eight 50 ton mechs (5 IS, 3 Clan)
We have six 55 ton mechs (5 IS, 1 Clan)

We have four 60 ton mechs (3 IS, 1 Clan)
We have six 65 ton mechs (3 IS, 3 Clan)
We have five 70 ton mechs (4 IS, 1 Clan)
We have six 75 ton mechs (3 IS, 3 Clan)

We have four 80 ton mechs (3 IS, 1 Clan)
We have four 85 ton mechs (2 IS, 2 Clan)
We have five 90 ton mechs (3 IS, 2 Clan)
We have two 95 ton mechs (1 IS, 1 Clan)
We have four 100 ton mechs (2 IS, 2 Clan)

IS has most choices on 35, 50 and 55 tons (5 available chassis)
