There's been a lot of bad vibes and people threatening to quit the game these days over something as comparatively insignificant as the skill tree.

This is not one of the big problems MWO has though.

It's biggest detriments are the lack of new content and the steep learning curve for new players.

I know everyone has their own opinions of what the game needs, some easy some hard to implement.

Let's get at least a limited overview of what kind of changes the community really deems important.

I know a few ppl asking me the same question every time i ask them to play MWO with me...: "is there a pve co-op mode yet?"...

I say "no" and i always get something like "ahh.. ok, no thanks, dont wanna do the same over and over again".

For myself, i really like playing mwo the way it is right now but some kind of cooperative pve would be nice also.

I think PvE would be very useful for easing new players into the game.
The biggest problem for beginners is the relatively steep learning curve.

Agreed, a 4vAI mode is needed, and not just 4 verses a lance of AI mechs, but, against combined arms (arguably easier to do vehicles and aircraft over mechs first). Not just for New Player Experience but also as a way to get away from PvP when you want to play your mechs, as well as give a bit better sense of scale to the game. We are so used to fighting mechs only that the sense of scale in MWO feels off in a lot of ways. I know that often I don't hop onto MWO in a given day due to I don't feel like playing QP and FP just not rewarding but I want to play with my mechs. So I end up playing MW4:Mercs some more, or MW:LL (sure LL is all PvP but it scratches the itch that FP just does not).

I don't think that MWO itself needs a PvE mode. It is reported that MW5 will not have an online multiplayer mode but I think that having an online Co-Op option through out the entire campaign would be truly ground breaking for a MW game.

I would love to see smoke launchers added. not really much reason to use thermal and using it outside of thermals range could be a life saver making it harder for people to hit particular components and able to help make a get away if under the effect of ECM.
