It is lacking quirks for no reason.

Its small, its has JJs, hero and reenforcment pack got ECM. I get that.

But this thing has very low offensive power, due the lack of quirks like:

1) CD
2) Heat
3) Range.

I think the good thing is that it isn't OP, but I would really appreciate more offenive quirks for it and for the BSW.

Right or Wrong? Whats your take on it?

I say: BUFF

The skill tree is coming in 60-90 days. You don't need quirks until then.-PGI

Could be worse. Look at the Bushwacker.
And... unlike the Assassin, people actually bought the Bushwacker.

Yeah I commented on that (BSW).

It need quirks badly.

But it might be tied to this issue: https://mwomercs.com...erformers-pts3/

New tech might help it. Stuff like heavy machineguns could be very helpful.

I haven't had much of a chance to play with my Assassin's yet, but if you think the Bushwhacker isn't a strong medium as is, then you aren't playing it right.

I'm actually having a ton of fun in my 101. Took me a bit to find a build that works for my playstyle, but I think I'm on to something, at least for my self. It's set up to play a lot like my Medusa, little faster, jumps just a bit less. Not quite the same lethality due to the overall HP layout. I'm running an ERL RT and 3 ML on an xl 330. While I thought at first the ASN couldn't kill anything, no matter what I tried, my K/D is starting to climb back up a bit and the more important stat W/L, is starting off well and I feel I've been able to contribute to my team in my ASN for those victories.

Sure, there are other mechs like the Cicada that can do similar things (and do them slightly better) but I don't feel I've wasted my money at all since I'm enjoying it so much. Though, I thought I would've been more about the ECM variants, but I kinda don't like them TBH (not as fun for some reason).

A plate full of skirmishing, harassment and squirreling is the order of the day with the ASN. At least that's been my experience so far.

When the skill tree gets here those quirk complaints will be irrelevant. You can lean the mech to where you want

The skill tree won't fix bad mechs. Unless they plan to give bad mechs extra skill points or higher percentages from their points. The latter I think has some more merit.

Looking at the quirks it does have. It could be worse. It could be a Firestarter.

They're has never been to many op 40 ton mechs. Even the CDA with crazy quirks isnt really that good.

It's very likely the skill tree will make these worse. They're going to decouple the engine so the large xl isnt going to help it as much. I bet they will nerf some of the quirks it has like they did all the other mechs too. Only mechs without quirks are going to be better.

just shows how many overquirked chassis still need detuning. Then we can determine legitimately if the ASN needs a little pick me up. BSW is fine, if not "uber", with current quirks. Personally, I'd rather see a trend toward ASN/BSW power levels then seeing more things overbuffed/quirked.

PGI's stance is to let a month or more pass after releasing a mech with minimal offensive quirks and mostly mobility and defensive quirks before really modifying them. Bushwacker does fine with it's current quirks, the Assassin seems to as well. At least for now while people are still learning what is side torso on a humanoid battlemech.

Hopefully PGI will also launch clan mechs, more so clan battlemechs with no quirks and go from there. But, given the past, clans get some quirks, but, roughly half of IS even though they don't really need them in mass majority of cases. Plus it lets them go back and quirk the under performing variants properly. If you want to complain about a lack of quirks on IS, look back to the Phoenix Hawk. Got the mobility, bit of structure at release (switched to armor thankfully), and MG quirks, 1B got decent velocity quirks for the PPC, but, PPC heat generation would have been better for it due to limited tonnage for cooling.

Bushie bad? Dear Russ i must be god tier of the puggies since i'm so good in it.

Loving the ASN could do with more favourable quirks, maybe something for the SRM 4 spread.
