MISCELLANEOUS BUILDS

Quote

DWF Dakka Vomit - 2x UAC10 [4t] + UAC20 [5t] + 4x ERML | 21 DHS

A very risky yet effective mid-ranged build, it puts out at a possible 108 alpha when it doesn't jam. It is relatively cool (tested on heat-neutral maps), but that involves only shooting the lasers only the first volleys and the ACs on the subsequent volleys, allowing you to put out 188 damage. That is what the 2 Coolshots are for.

The major problem of this build is the ACs themselves, that they constantly jam, and when they do the UAC20 isn't particularly comfortable to jam with, and then you have the UAC20 velocity you have to deal with.

Still, what matters is the insane alpha it puts out and the use of the UACs makes Lasers relatively comfortable to use.

KDK-3 Gauss-Dakka - 2x GR [50] + 2x UAC10 [240] | XL375

The Dakka Bear is pretty meta, likewise pokebear. But I realized that i can somewhat combine the two; Gauss at it's high-mount poking, 2 UAC10 for dakka bursting. This results in a hybrid hill-hump PPFLD poker, with a dakka for good DPS.

HBK-GI Fire Support - AC10 [40], LRM10A [450], 3x ML | XL235

One of the original builds i made with the free Hunchback GI, as i tried to make use of that 1M at all. Originally it was supposed to be Standard Engine, however it ain't as effective without 2 more medium lasers. The play is simple, use both medium lasers and AC10 as primary, but the LRM is just there for harrassment, and to append your firepower, but still go get your own locks.

RGH-2A Fire-Support - AC10 [60] + 3x ERML + LRM20A [540], 11 DHS, LFE285

Literally the Roughneck version of above. This mixed build makes use of the abundant energy hardpoints of the 2A with the use of the AC10. Only it has a single LRM20A to append your firepower.

GI LRM Boat - LRM20A [990] + 2x LMG [3750] + 3x ERML, LFFA, LFE235

It's a strategic take with an LRM build, the 2x LMG on the hunch is instead used as a shield as opposed of being the primary weapon. The LRM20A ain't that bad, it's just not great. It also doesn't have that much energy hard points, but that 3x ERML would help you poke.

HBK-IIC-C Dakka Vomit - 2x UAC5 [240] + 4x ERML, 14 DHS

Makes use of the HBK-IIC-C arm energy hard points, it's quite potent as it's one of the builds used with the TBR, only you don't have the armor. Less dependent with the Dakka element, this build is useful with prolonged fights but still have good DPS to boot. Runs hot though, as it's only ever useful when you can actually make use of your lasers as well than pure dakka.

MAD-IIC-C Dakka Vomit - 2x UAC10 [330] + 5x ERML, 18 DHS

Basic Dakka Vomit build, it's literally just a souped-up TBR, or HBK-IIC. Make use of Lasers.

EBJ-C Dakka Brawler - 4x SRM4 [400] + 2x UAC5 [240] + ERML + AMS [2000], 13 DHS

A particularly generalized build for the Ebon Jaguar, it's a brawler though weak than the bonafide brawlers, yet it has a dakka weapon able to trade long range. This generalization between the two, make it so that it sucks at dealing with specialized enemies. However it works on most cases where a specialized brawler couldn't, or a dakka couldn't. It has a single ERML for backup, and an AMS for the lulz, and also to contribute a bit more to the team. You can commit to more ammunition, and more DHS if you want.

It's fighting style is that of half-and-half with a brawler and mid-range DPS. Much of it's charm is that you can shoot the SRM4 much more often than an SRM6, that it blends with the UAC5 and lets you, as if the SRM4 is also some sort of a short-range dakka. It's the type that bursts damage and provides sustained fire, than dance with a partner. You can hill-hump with the top missiles, but that's about it. The wide profile means that you'd be exposing much of yourself constantly, and kind of prone to friendly fire.

KFX-S Support - ER-PPC + 3x AMS [4000] + 2x SRM4 [200] + ECM

Something i would describe as basic Kitfox Build. ECM + 3x AMS, pair that with overload and ample ammo, you'd be a bane to LRMers everywhere, and an asset to your potato teammate. The 2x SRM4 + ER-PPC is a decent splat build considering your weight and your other equipment, and not only you have a means to snipe long range, you also have decent burst damage when nearby, as you would be guarding your allies within your protective bubble.

KFX-S Fire Support - 3x ERML + UAC5 [180], ECM
KFX-S Dakka-Fox - UAC10 [120] + 2x ERML + ECM

Everybody usually expects energy-heavy lights, cause it works well. But almost nobody expects a Dakka light at all. Kit-Fox just like the Adder and Urbanmech is perfectly capable of ballistic-heavy builds, and is able to provide fire-support. The best part is that lights are generally ignored in favor of heavier mechs, so you in a Dakka Kit-Fox can punish the enemy for underestimating you.

Comes in two forms; the UAC5 piggybacking on 3 ERMLs with ECM for general situations and sustained combat, and then there's the UAC10 with 2x ERML purifier high-mount for extreme mayhem.

SHC-P Streak-PPCTart - 2x SSRM6 [300] + ER-PPC, ECM, 11 DHS or SHC-P Streak-PPCTart - 3x SSRM4 [300] + ER-PPC, ECM

The hybridization of PPC Poptart and StreakCat, this utilizes 2x SSRM6 for that fire-and-forget missiles, and then the PPFLD and long-range of the ER-PPC. If you feel that you can drop 1 heat-sink, and can take that increased heat/second, you can equip 3x SSRM4s over 2x SSRM6s.

This plays a bit of both. Sniping is far cooler since it's just a single PPC, but deals far less damage so you can just keep shooting far often. But light-hunting would require a lot more aim than usual, since the PPC bolt is unguided. But otherwise, assuming that you can land it, it's devastating at hell. A good shot to an ECM mech, say a Pirates Bane, it gives you enough window time to shoot your streaks without waiting that long for a lock.

3x SSRM4 build is significantly hotter, so it plays a bit more into PPC Poptart territory, such as less Jump Jets usage to help with the resting heat, yet the 3x SSRM4 has a more potent light hunting tool than the 2x SSRM6 since you can fire more missiles. Else 2x SSRM6 can play more as a Streak-Tart cat due to it's cooler nature.

DWF-W Fire Support - 4x ERML + 3x UAC5 [360] + 2x LRM15A [900], 20 DHS, TC1

Direwolf actually excels in mid range to long range. There's the standard Dakka Build, but i also wanted a few lasers and Missiles to complement my ACs at a certain range.

Here's the frigate version of the Direwolf. Own someone within 400 - 600 meters. You have lasers, you have acs, you have missiles. The right way to lurm on a dire is never at all, but if your heart is set on having lurms, then this is the right way; Lurms are just fluff on the build.

BJ-2(L) Striker - 2x LL + 4x SRM4 [400], 1 JJ

I honestly didn't know what to built the Loyalty Blackjack Variant. It's too squishy for a brawler, so i tried the LRM approach. Of course LRM5 was nerfed, but it was already kind of not good in the beginning.

So i changed tactics, it's a Striker -- think of it a Brawler that doesn't dance with a partner. It just snipes, but does so with a heavier damage at a closer range. Of course that 2x Large Lasers have considerable range over the SRMs, still not that far for actual sniping.

HMN-P Striker, 5x MPL + 2x SRM6A, 17 DHS

A different take for a brawling build, this focuses on lasers instead. The MPLs allows you to focus 40 damage the Artemised SRMs deal 25.8 cumulative damage, albeit spread. It doesn't dance however, it's a hit and run.

HBK-IIC Dakka PPC - 2x UAC5 [240] + C-ERPPC, 12 DHS, XL275

The meta in the HBK in the wrong way, UAC5 and PPC works on IS, particularly on the warhammer, and it so happens that you can put two UAC5 and a PPC in the Hunchback IIC. Nevermind the faster PPC bolt nor the burst-fired UAC5 shells, but it's the same thought.

MAD-IIC-D Fire Support - 2x UAC10 [300] + 2x LRM15 [900] + 2x ERML, 15 DHS, ECM

Another one of those Dakka-Laser-Lurm builds, but this time for the MAD-IIC. It comes with ECM too, and unlike the Direwolf this one moves a lot faster. However with much of the firepower localized on the arms, be careful not to have them shot off.

EXE-C Dakka-PPC Poptart - 2x UAC5 [360] + ERPPC

The build is an offshoot of the Dakka PPC of the Warhammer, but it's done less so with the build. It's less powerful, but the dakka part doesn't suck. With the skills set, it's so nimble and agile, in addition of being pretty damn tanky.

EBJ-B Fire Support - UAC10 [180] + 2x LRM10A [720] + 3x ERML, 15 DHS
EBJ-B Fire Support - UAC10 [180] + 2x LRM10 [720] + 3x ERML, 17 DHS

Like before, this build is a bit of everything; basic dakka vomit with missiles as fluff. The best part is that the 2x LRM10 on the arms works well with the high-mount peeking, because the Ebon Jaguar is a well-known good hill humper; the fact that you can just lob your missiles over cover means you don't have to expose a large amount of your body to make the volley. It's like the arms themselves are highmounted like the torso mounts too.

HMN-C Striker - 5x MPL + 2x SRM6A [200], 17 DHS
PAHKET Striker, 4x MPL + 4x SRM4, 17 DHS

A powerful close-ranged striker, it plays like a short-ranged laser-vomit with SRMs for even more damage. The downside is that the heat makes it so that it doesn't play like a brawler despite such range.

If you prefer a bit more SRMs and faster rate, you can always drop the artemis and switch to 4x SRM4 provided by the PAHKET omnipods. It syncs better with the MPLs, but then with larger spread you are less efficient.

HBK-GI Fire Support - UAC10 [140] + MRM10 [300] + 3x ERML | LFE235
HBK-GI AMS Fire-Support - AC10 [50] + MRM10 [450] + 3x ERML + LAMS | LFE235

With the dawn of the Civil War tech, IS got some good toys. ER Medium Lasers, MRMs, UAC10, this set up allows the GI to be a mid-range nightmare. It goes pretty hot, but it does utilize both the missile and the energy hardpoint.

If you feel you could change the UAC10 into AC10, you could also use AMS for a bonafide team-player. LAMS is best, but if you feel that's too hot you can simply switch to a normal AMS with 1 ton ammo.

Trial-Mech Suggestions

Quote

KFX-S Support - 3x ERML + 3x AMS [6000] + 4x MG [4000], ECM, 12 DHS

It's a pure-support Kit-Fox, it comes with 3x AMS + ECM for anti-lrms that helps with survival. It's weapons are MGs for close-range and Medium Lasers for poking. It's not supposed to go and get the enemy, it's just supposed to support your team. It's supposed to teach newbies a supportive role.

Quote

KFX-S Plink Vomit - UAC2 [262] + 3x ERML, ECM, 11 DHS

It's a combat-oriented Kitfox designed to introduce the concept of Light Fire-Support role. The High-Mounted AC2 is really great at poking, pair that with a rapid-fire plinker, it's a real menace, shoot on people's faces. Supported by 3x ERML, poking closer is much more rewarding. The ECM helps the player sneak and hide.

Quote

UM-R60L(C) Laser Vomit - LPL + 3x ERML + 2x LMG [2500] + LAMS, XL170

A standard close-range laser-vomit for the Urbanmech. The XL170 is quite enough for the speed, it's still not as fast as many other mechs however it just means that Urbie pilots should learn to accompany ther team. And being close range, they can do as much damage as they can.

Quote

UM-R60L(C) Laser Sniper - 2x LMG [2500] + LAMS + 2x ERLL, XL170

A longer-range approach for the Urbanmech, it deals weaker damage at a longer duration than the Laser Vomit one, but it does mean that it's survivabilty gone up with the increased range.

Quote

UM-R60L(C) Skirmisher - AC5 [52] + 4x ML, XL170, 2x JJ
UM-R60L(C) Skirmisher - AC5 [52] + 4x ERML, XL170, 2x JJ
UM-R60L(C) Skirmisher - LB5X [70] + 4x ERML, XL170

It's a fire-support build for the Urbanmech, it's a great way to introduce heavy weapons for the Urbanmech. The 4x ERML can get quite hot, but that is where the AC5 comes in, because it's not that hot. The AC5 could be replaced with an LB5X instead for crits, but it's not really that good.
