So... what we have is skirmish + minigame... again? When is PGI going to learn that ANY game mode where killing all enemy mechs is a victory condition is skirmish by default? The only way to get people to care about objectives is to eliminate "kill them all" as a win condition and add respawns. Objective based games should have infinite respawns and continue until the objective is met or the timer runs out. They should never end before that and just killing all enemies should not be the most viable tactic.

Infinite re-spawn should not be ever an option. Drop deck for CERTAIN game modes maybe, not more than that.

Other way around. No respawn should only be the case in skirmish. Every other mode needs infinite respawns until the objective is met or the timer expires.

Doesn't one of the must successful and longest running online games out there - Counter Strike- have objective based wins and kill them all wins ????

Drop deck, timer, no kill'em all condition, better rewards for completing objectives. That could work.
