Hello Guys,

In the round table Paul asked for us to give more feedback on the OC servers and what problems you have, if any.

The best way to do it is some ping tests and some feedback on what problems you are having.
Anyone that plays on the OC server please give your opinion.

Please try to do the tests when you normally play.

Format:

Location: ( State/Country) Darwin/Australia
Ping to OC server 101.100.201.86 : Avg here
Ping to USA server 192.99.40.103: Avg here
Ping to a server in SYD 103.62.51.1 ( Not a PGI server) : Avg here
Ping to a server in LA: 160.202.164.11 ( Not a PGI server) : Avg here
Time of Ping: 10 PM AEST

Problems: EG OC server pings is not stable Ect

Do you only have these problems with MWO? Yes/No

My location is Sydney.

When I play League of Legends - the server is based in sydney - my ping increases to about 13ms.

Note: These ping tests were done on a half gigabit connection and the ping to Singapore was just as bad as my home connection which is a 40Mb connection.

Been experiencing some serious packet loss connecting to oceanic server, I find the Oceanic server has a quite low up-time compared to similar roles, especially during oceanic prime time when the server drops for "updates" as an example.

Ping to OC server 101.100.201.86 : 128
Ping to USA server 192.99.40.103: 247
Ping to a server in SYD 103.62.51.1 ( Not a PGI server) : 17
Ping to a server in LA: 160.202.164.11 ( Not a PGI server) : 204
Time of Ping: 2:30 PM AEST

Problems: OC servers, extream variation depending on isp, my privious isp had ping ot OC at 328 and 300ish to na.
servers are inconsistant with ping variation and 'blips' during games causing a jump/dsync although extreamly minimal.
no communication when there are issues. There seems to be no communication when something does happen, either to pgi or users.

Problems: OC server seems to have a ping range of 100MS to 300MS depends on what week you are playing, it also has heaps of lagging compared to the NA server.

Happy to play on a higher ping if its stable.

Is it only MWO that you have these problems with?: YES

Problems: OC server has recently improved, used to be as bad as EU connection. Last 2 or 3 months problems have settled. We did have a couple of connection issues last WC but only one or two.
I'm not the best option as MWO is the only online game I play

Ping to OC server 101.100.201.86 : Avg 81ms
Ping to USA server 192.99.40.103: Avg 226ms
Ping to a server in SYD 103.62.51.1 ( Not a PGI server) : Avg 169ms
Ping to a server in LA: 160.202.164.11 ( Not a PGI server) : Avg 209ms

Problems: Terrible performance on US server, unplayable on EU. Teleporting is still a thing when I bump into someone. OC server being the best of all is still fairly laggy--but we don't have enough players for a Asian server anyway so I guess it's all we can get.

Edit: Forgot to use a VPN which I normally do when play MWO.

Oceanic: 108ms
USA: 240ms
Sydney: 24ms
LA: 164ms

Time of pings: 6:42pm (peak).

Problems: While my ping looks OK at the moment it has varied pretty massively, up to 180ms. Some of that has been my ISP but some of that is also just to the MWO Server in Singapore. Telstra fixed their issues and I was still 140ms for a while the past few months to Singapore server, no clue why. It's back down at the moment though.

Problems:

1 x disconnect during World Champs 2016, spikes in performance up or down will occur depending on whether network traffic is routed through Japan from the East Coast or direct. The OC server also frequently suffers 2 or more disconnects during the same match, or clients that lag out and simply never connect.

Problems: AP server ping is sometimes around 180 game, sometimes it is considerably higher. I think to suit the large number of Australian and New Zealand players the server should be in Sydney. There are players in South East Asia of course but I think the main oceanic player base definitely seems to be Australian. While it doesn't affect me directly drop outs seem to be much worse when starting a game on Oceanic causing comp matches needing to be restarted.

Do you only have these problems with MWO? Yes
