228th INDEPENDENT BATTLEMECH REGIMENT

Posted Image

Posted Image Big Roster, Big Numbers
While we are a highly competitive unit we strive to be supportive of new players as well. We value quality over quantity and focus on being a reliable, mature, and loyal group. We are an exclusive group of exceptional individuals that come together to blow stuff up, and we are looking for people who fit that profile.

Posted Image 5 teams in one
We currently run 5 teams in various tiers of competitive play, 3 North American teams, a European team and a Oceanic Team. When and where ever you play the game you can find a team to play with in the 228th

Posted Image Decorated with Valor
Our unit is highly competitive and always strives to be the best. It is in this endeavor that we have found ourselves as one of the premiere competitive units.

Posted Image We Had Fun Once, and It Was Awesome
We aren't some pseudo mil-sim unit that emphasizes illogical gameplay styles modeled after a real-world military unit and we won't force you to do regularly scheduled menial practice drills just for the sake of it. We are composed of players skilled and mature enough that the unrelenting weight of a draconian clan framework is unnecessary.

The 228th IBR is founded and run by people that aim create a unique group for people to have fun in competitive play with. Employing the experience gained from the formation of past units in many other games, the 228th IBR represents what an competitive MWO unit should be about: teamwork, fun, and blowing stuff up.

Posted Image 48th Striker "Black Watch"
The "Black Watch" is the primary competitive NA battalion of the 228th IBR. Black Watch represents the best that the 228th have to offer, and are very selective of who they recruit. With an established legacy of consistently excellent results across multiple tournaments and leagues, and a dedicated focus upon maintaining the top-notch performance that they have always been known for, Black Watch looks forward to even greater successes in the future.

Posted Image 318th Heavy Assault "Swamp Foxes"
The Swamp Foxes are the 2nd tier North American competitive battalion of the 228th IBR. Like all inner units of the 228, they strive to reach the maximum competitive level they can. They participate in all MWO competitive leagues that will have them, and never quit. They seek active, talented pilots who know how to work as a team, are not afraid to voice their opinion, but can also listen to the leaders just as well. Check bad attitudes at the door and bring your A game, because the drop is about to start.

Posted Image 206th Battle "Death from Above"
The 206th "Death From Above" is 228th's NA third competitive battalion. Having less than a year of competitive play, Death From Above is looking to make a name for themselves and pilots that wish to do the same.

Posted Image 226th Dragoon "The Wild Ones"
The "The Wild Ones" is the competitive Oceanic-Asian-Pacific battalion of the 228th IBR, is widely known for placing first in the region for MWOWC and going to Vancouver. They are always looking for new mates to join them for a laugh, and sometimes some serious mech action.

Posted Image 17th Hussar "Golden Talons"
The "Golden Talons" is the competitive European battalion of the 228th IBR. Our euro community of gamers features players from across the European timezones, including from Germany, France, Sweden, Finland and more. Language barriers are not an issue for members, as we have players from all over and speak multiple languages. They are selective but very open for recruitment.

We are looking for pilots with a teamwork-oriented attitude. You must be willing to learn, as well as to share the knowledge you have with others, to benefit from as well as contribute to the unit.

It is our belief that players who wish to be members of the 228th IBR are aggressive and seek to a higher level of play at all times even as casuals. Because of this we expect our members to take initiative when it comes to the unit both in game and out.
Current needs are:

Pilot Description Battalion Contact
Experienced Assault Specialist 318th Heavy Assault "Swamp Foxes" Sherrod
Assault Specialist 206th Battle "Death from Above" Ironkilo
Light Specialist 206th Battle "Death from Above" IronKilo

I am tier 3 now. By the time I work my way to tier 1 I will hopefully be good enough for competition. Also by then I will have a better collection of assault mechs to contribute more to a team.

Good luck to you guys.

Currently I'm rank 50 in Medium Mechs, 320th overall.
I was ranked 23rd in mediums for season 9 123rd overall. I haven't played as much this season.
I'm currently just sick of PUGs, and I crave a real challenge, a team that understands drop calling, and a enjoy few giggles.
I was a member of the Praetorian Legion as a light ace and trainer, nothing but love for them, but their Competition play is lacking, and the majority of my old mates have moved on.
I can master any role but have preferred Mediums due to the unknowing nature of PUG matches, a Mediums mobility can make them suitable for multi-role play.
I used to be a light ace but Jenners got nerfed pretty horribly, although as a scout I'm not too shabby.
Medium Mechs are my bread and butter, ATM.
Heavy Mechs that favor mobility have a warm place in my arsenal. although the odd DAKKA/META is fun.
Assault Mechs are too slow for my taste, however I have a number of them I play on occasion, usually I find in PUG matches that PUGS do not understand sharing armor, or they tend to chase squirrels leaving the fatties to die alone.

As you can see the majority of my play styles have developed through the PUG experience. I have played on teams but it has been a few years ( back when Pop-tarting was META, still have my Victor-DS )

OK down to basics, I'm a grown man with three teenage sons, I work full time, I play a bit nearly every night (at least one match). Life comes before gaming, always.
That being said, you give me a role and I will master it as I like being challenged.
I am soft spoken and easy going, I enjoy drop calling.
I can be reached at answer@telus.net.

228th IBR INDEPENDENT BATTLEMECH REGIMENT

Posted Image

Posted ImageBig Roster, Big Numbers, Big Money, Big Bois

While we are a highly esport team we strive to be supportive of new players as well. We offer coaching sessions for $50/minute on skype. (first minute is free) We are an exclusive group of extremely okay individuals that come together to dominate the battlefield, and we are looking for people who can keep up with us.

Posted Image5 teams in one

We currently run 5 teams(I think?) in various tiers of competitive play, 3 North American teams, a Oceanic team and the other one. When and where ever you play the game you can find homies to fill your pug group in the 228th. (KDR increase guaranteed)

Posted ImageDecorated with Valor, Glory and Valor

Our unit is highly competitive and always strives to be #1. It is in this endeavor that we have found ourselves as one of the premiere MWO esport teams. (top 10 at least, very good)

Posted ImageWar has changed.

It's no longer about nations, ideologies, or ethnicity. It's an endless series of proxy battles, fought by mercenaries and machines. War and it's consumption of life -- has become a well oiled machine. War has changed.

The 288th IBR is founded and run by people that aim to crush any competition with all the might of their ancestors. Employing the experience gained from the formation of past units in many other games and ignoring the Geneva Conventions, the 228th IBR represents what a competitive MWO unit should be about: teamwork, fun, and committing war crimes.

Posted Image48th Striker "Black Watch"

Remnant of the various incidents of Kentares IV, the 48th was changed forever after seeing the worst atrocities war has to offer. The secret of their success is their play style heavily affected by repeated violent PTSD episodes.

Posted Image318th Heavy Assault "Swamp Foxes"

Home of all the Furries within the unit. After surviving The Great Midwest Furfest Gas Attack of 2014, The Swamp Foxes decided to learn the art of Armored Warfare so that one day they can get vengeance. They are known for their superior CQC training and yiffing their opponents to death.

Posted Image206th Battle "Death from Above"

Worker caste of the 228th, filled with war criminals and oddities. The 206th will do anything for the right amount of c-bills. Unpredictable, greedy and not afraid to break peace accords, they participated in many Inner Sphere historical event, including the Massacres of Kentares VI and attacking some dude's home planet.

Posted Image226th Dragoon "The Wild Ones"

Born in the darkest corners of the Earth, The Wild Ones only know victory, and they're not afraid to use any means necessary in order to achieve it. They crushed everyone in their way and assumed complete Western World Domination. It's only a matter of time before they organize a coup and take over the 228th.

They also have a weird chair fetish.

Posted Image17th Hussar "Golden Talons"

Only mentioned in whispers and ghost stories, The Golden Talons are a myth. Their legend haunt the battlefield. It is said that sometimes in the night, you can still hear the incoherent french yelling coming from their officers in the distance.

We are looking for pilots with a teamwork-oriented attitude and an infinite thirst for blood. You must be willing to learn, as well as to share your secret techniques with others, to benefit from as well as contribute to the unit.

It is our belief that players who wish to be members of the 228th IBR can point and click properly and stay away from filthy Lock-on weapons. 228th Pilots caught using LRMs or SSRMs will be expelled from the unit immediately with a complimentary SWOL application. Depending on the case, their bloodline might also be eradicated.

Current Position openings are:

Hanzo Mains
Club Penguin Veterans
Beyblade Champions (great at rotations)
Twitch Viewbots
Someone who I can play Street Fighter with (must bring own stick)

I've been throwing around the idea of applying with 228 for a while now. I've done pretty well on any leaderboard event that I've made an effort to participate in, and generally end up with good stats during any given season. I enjoy good teamwork and coordination, and feel like I could do well with you guys.
