Please share your builds that work. I've tried a couple variations (2xLPL + 2xERML + 2xLB10-X; 5xERML + 2xLB10-X; 5xERML + 2xUAC/10), they all feel very weak and the mech feels squishy. So far I don't get what all the MAD-IIC hype was about. Help me enjoy this mech.

P. S. Is the special forum section for discussing mech builds gone? It used to be hard to find, but now I think it's no longer there...

There are a couple of build on metamechs (I think)

Currently I have settled on 2xuac10, 2xlpl. I wanted a build that I was happy to push forward with. The other build that I really like (so long as they don't prematurely explode is 2xgauss 5cerml). If somebody crits them early on it kinda sucks (ALOT).

MAD-IIC is not on Metamechs yet.
Good idea about dual Gauss. Gotta remember not to brawl with that, though. This build is probably better on a faster and lighter mech, like Ebon Jaguar, rather than assault. But certainly worth a try.

http://metamechs.com...ists/clan-list/ There is a build on the clan page; erppc was okay - I found too many nascars, found lpl more practical

It's in the "Archived" section for some utterly odd reason

The Marauder is a fantastic assault. I don't know why you are describing it as fragile. Are you frontloading the armor? I have usable builds for all the variants.

Based the five energy hardpoints you are probably using the IIC-C. I run a 340XL, 2x LPLAS, 3x mlas, 4x JJ and a LBX-10 @ 2 tons.

Your builds are probably undersinked because you used the weight for a second ballistic. Balancing twin UAC heat is tricky if you add to many energy weapons.

Of course I'm front-loading the armor! 7-9 points in the back.

Well done, Sherlock! Although you could have simply read the thread title Posted Image
The build you suggest is very similar to what I tried first, only I had 2 MLs instead of 3. Couldn't make it work either. Managing 3 weapon groups is very difficult, and LB10-X feels a weak weapon, especially for how many slots and how much tonnage it takes. Also, this mech is bound on the number of slots more than tonnage, and using UACs frees up two slots for one extra DHS. But I'm not saying the UAC build is good.

Gonna try 5 MLs + 2 LB10-X next...

Typical Clan brawling 2 LB-20s, + SRMs.

Whatever you do, for the love of {insert deity here}, don't use it as a LRM boat.

Because why waste 85tons, when you can waste 100tons instead? Go toss your skill missiles on an Atlas or Spirit Bear.

ONE

TWO

THREE

FOUR

Just some options to try out. Haven't run them personally, don't have that variant. But will work well enough.

The C can't run dual gauss without dropping the XL for a standard, which just isn't worth it, and dual LBX20 is entirely impossible.

Have you tried gauss+lasers:

I'd post more builds but A S H already posted ones pretty similar to what I would.

Currently running mine like this:
https://mwo.smurfy-n...baf6fab5675393e

So far I've averaged ~700 damage with it (only played 6 matches so far to basic it) but most wins are around 900.

Tbh, the JJ's don't help that much, will probably sell it once I've mastered it and keep the A and/or D variants instead.

It feels fast enough with the XL 340, though twisting/turning is slow, and is very survivable - since playing it, I've definitely understood how every match ends up with one or two of these things running around near-fresh. Such a solid mech. If I wanted 15T elsewhere in a dropdeck, wouldn't be too disheartened to drop my KDK-3 for this. That said, it does run hotter than I'd like, and the PPC version even hotter, but as with all energy/dakka hybrids, you just lay off the LPL for a bit until you fall back below 70% heat.
