I bought a Mad Dog prime... any of you Mad Dog dudes out there ( and I know there's one in every match) have any LRM builds for me? I went 15+20 with Artemis. and all the sensors I could pack after maxing armour.

I use a Maddog with 6 LRM 5S & 5 ER Medium Lasers. I usually have everything on chain fire. Button 1 is the LRMs on chainfire. Button Two is the ER Medium Lasers on chainfire. Button 3 Fires all the Missles in one go and Button 4 all the Lasers.

Tabletop won't translate well here. PGI's filter is 3 to 19 times standard tabletop damage classes (I'm terrified of what RACs will do since standard UAC/5s can deliver TT RAC/5 damage in the same time frame).

This said.. You want an LRM-20 and 15 on each side, or LRM 20 on one and LRM-15 on the other?

Here's an idea.

If just LRM-15s with Artemis are acceptable, then here.

Thanks... I find the target computer GREAT, especially since I know the etiquette around asking a MechWarrior to press "R" so 75% of my locks are my own.. the level 4 cuts the lock time IIRC by 46%, which is well worth the weight to me.

Thanks for the links Kon! I love this forum.

EDIT: Just noticed those builds have no head armour. (well, 1 and 2) That seems dangerous to me. Is this common? Are a lot of you running around with a tarp over your cockpits? I get that it's half a ton, but what a way to get .5 of a ton!

Targeting computers cut the target info time, not the lock time. That is, how long it takes to get the damage report on your target. BAP and Artemis will speed up the lock on time.

Headshots are rare, so you can afford to cut some armor from it. However, 1 is scary low IMO, too susceptible to incidental damage. I'd cut the legs down to 50 and add that armor to the head. All a matter of personal preference though.

MDD-PRIME
I run something similar to these two. It can be toasty if you lean on the lasers too hard.
