Who Would Win? ~700 Long Range Missiles, Or A Crippled Mech With An Anti Missile System?

I mean, what's a pair of puny, half ton AMS systems going to do against 700 missiles?

We do know about this bug...but I wanted to know more
How many LRMs can it take, before being overwhelmed?!
600+ mixed variety had little, if any, effect

I'm looking to get a 12 man consisting of both LRM100 Stalkers, and LRM100 MadDogs
Other options are available, but I want the 100 counts
Cyclops, Many Clam mechs with 5 missile hardpoints (Huntsman, Summoner)


Both suggested allow for a LOLpha (ONE, and cooldown) or sustained Chainfire



There would also be 2 Spectator slots, if someone thinks 1200 missiles flying would look cool

I think the Stalker one has a chance of actually getting through
I think the cLRMs will be decimated without issue.
Though, the highest volume my testing has countered was still under 700 missiles (of mixed variety)
Maybe 1000+ would be enough.

How long do we expect this bug to last? Because the Nova is pretty easy to lose an ST on (purposely, assisted, or otherwise)
It's not nearly as effective to SRMs, so I'm not afraid of sharing this knowledge. It does murder Streaks pretty well, though. From a SRM24, only a handful get through
From an SRM36, you still get a fair amount.

I find the bug useful in CW as IS player, cause Clanners are in love with their guided missiles (CLRMs and CSSRMs). Too bad for them, BLR-2C is perfect mech against their builds. Against IS it is of no use cause only few players use LRMs on the IS side.

From having done a tour of all factions in FP....

Typically there are more dedicated LRM boats on the IS side, but random insertion of LRMs on a mech is more common for clan.

IE madcats/ebj/etc randomly having LRMs added to an otherwise normal fit, but there being more LRM catapults/archers/hunchbacks/trebuchets/stalkers etc on the IS side.

Oh, we also guesstimated the new AMS value
Used to be 1 MS for each 3 missiles
Seems to have been nerfed to 1 MS for every 7 missiles

Less than 50% of what it was

Assuming it's the AMS dead zone bug (zone where AMS does not actually work on each mech)?

I was also curious about that...I think the AMS would win....but maybe not.
It depends how much space is between each volley...which probably isn't much

AMS overload bug. If you have a dual AMS equipped mech and AMS overdrive module, and lose one of the AMS points, the overdrive becomes like double overdrive on the remaining AMS point. Making the single AMS more effective than the two it had before.

In this case, 3 AMS down to 2
It's far more effective than the single one posted previously

Heh I never shoot at the mechs with ecm or ams anyway.

Without the AMS bug, even an isLRM60 gets through the 3 AMS Nova (with all Mods and 30% RoF quirks)


They aren't terribly effective, but they do decimate cLRMs
