A game like this takes time to develop, so I am guessing it will be a while before they are far enough along to give more info on the game.
If I had to guess, I think they will give a decently sized update at Mechcon 2017, but probably not too much info before that (maybe just small bits and pieces at best).

This is all subject to funding and so far I have not seen a proper funding model for this "MW5".

I mean, PGI proved time and again they're inept at adding features that work. I don't see why there's so much hype for their next title. I expect it to be MWO 2.0 tbh.

Because they have to build a new island first before they can do a kickstarter for MW5.

Definitely won't be vaporware, but they do seem to be promising more features than they can realistically deliver, yet again.

I was announced in December no? They're maybe only a year and change into development. Speed will depend on how much code is portable from MWO to function with the Unreal Engines api.
Given that, a small studio will likely take 2-4 years. So I speculate sometime soon here we'll see another trailer drop as it'll be about the midway point for the projected 2018 release.

G'evening all,
Here's something that I've been pondering for a while now.
Now,to preface I was one of the old toppies who had to read magazines to get news about any game developments, so I feel that I have a bit of patience.
However, what with the open-book development revolution brought on by the interwebs, I have been drawn in a tad.
That being said, is anyone else curious to hear more news regarding Mech 5 Mercs?
We've heard pretty much zilch since the announcement at MechCon, and I'm a bit afeared that it's suffered the same fate as the last MW5 Mercs attempt.
I need my single-player mech action! I have serious withdrawal symptoms for it!

PGI don't communicate unless they are ready to sell you something.
