That's the problem with base rushes, nobody truly wins.

Person who gets the base destructions wins because they are 50k a pop so easy to get a profit off of that.

Irony.
If you base rush and destroy the base, you are not killing mechs...
Maybe he meant "win and/or kill Mechs" ?
Yeah, 50k for the entire team if you win by objective, please.

I beg to differ. 2 assault mechs in a base standing guard are a formidable defense. I have done it several times. The most memorable as of late was with a player by the name of RUD2 or something of the like. Myself in a Cyclops and he in a Marauder IIC killed 6 out of 10 intruders before falling to the assault. If the rest of the team had been worth anything at all. We would have won.
Last night I played an incursion match on Polar Highlands. A Stalker, Nova and Super Nova guarded the base while our lights and mediums gathered power cells. All the while doing as much damage as we could to the enemy team. Once we went down the remaining enemy team was obliterated by these 3 players DEFENDING THE BASE. With 5 minutes left on the clock the defenders killed 7 enemy mechs, walked 2500m to the enemy base and won the match for the team...
That's how you play the objective.

Not irony. Win or kill mechs. I don't care either way.

I play Shooty Stompy Robots for a reason, not Runny Base Shooty

Yeah, and your teammates don't get anything. And now they hate you for wasting their time by winning the game before they had time to earn anything.

For a team game, doing selfish things for your own profits probably won't leave your teammates (let alone the opfor) happy.

I like it much more than the "Stand on a Square Mode" that is Conquest...

And this is everything that's wrong with this game and why every mode is skirmish.. people care more about the money and high match scores than about winning and getting objectives done..
And the game promotes this..

More Irony perhaps. Then why have Modes and or different Maps at all. The scenery? Just get rid of everything else but the Shooty Stompy things running about killing each other and you end up with what we have already, the only way to really play MWO, apparently.
