To date, I've mastered 323 mechs. Probably contributed $1500 to PGI over the past few years, trying to reduce the grind that they continually try to increase. So I've paid my dues.

I don't have an opinion on the new skill tree yet, but I have a major bone to pick with the "we're not going to refund your modules bought prior to December 2016" policy. That's covers the majority of modules, since the majority of mechs were released prior to December.

Over the past hour and a half, I went through every mech, removed their modules, and sold them. At 50% of their value. In total, I sold 214 modules and lost 390,500,000 C-bills. That left a sour taste in my mouth--not for the additional 90 minutes wasted--but rather for the 400-600 hours of my time that PGI just stole.

Thank you very much, Paul. May this be your last project ever.

I feel the same way, I just cleared my module inventory for ~75m c-bills back (so current loss ~75m) (I have another 1.3 billion tied up equipped on mechs). I'm going to sell roughly 50% of them come monday.

Yes, very unfortunate we are not getting any patch notes yet despite how big this patch will be.

That's the reason why I haven't stripped modules off mechs just yet.

Sorry, i can't see past the..."I have 390 billion credits now."

Now only if PGI will refund me the 100m i spend on XL engines in the last year to complete mechs, when most of those are going to be LFE's.. (i won't hold my breath) Time to GRIND!

I will say the 50m i made this week over the event really took the sting out. that's the easiest 50m i have ever made, and i did it on 2 accounts..

Wait for what? They've stated multiple times we're going to get it up the bung regarding the modules. I've only been back for a couple of weeks and everything I've read has stated it as being immutable.

Read the Q&A just posted Friday in the command chair. No refunds for modules purchased before Dec confirmed.

Patch notes on Monday. Everyone will still have plenty of time to read them, calculate how many skill points they have coming to them, and act accordingly before patch goes live.

As to refunds on modules or lack thereof... I'm not sure what you'd do with 800 million C-Bills, OP. I bought modules knowing full well their resale value was 50% of the purchase price. Any module I bought I mounted on a Mech at one time or another, and those modules had a positive impact on my performance and earnings in game. I will sell unwanted modules back to PGI for the same C-Bill value I understood when they were purchased. Case closed, in my mind.

You paid to get around the grind. It's not a contribution. You paid for a service.

Technically you're getting your time back. You won't have to spend time playing unskilled mechs. The real issue is that you won't get the massive amount of c-bills you would have otherwise gotten.

Saying you don't know what to do with 800 million C-bills is like one of us saying I don't know what I'd do with 800 million dollars, so that means 800 million dollars is not useful.

The GSP that you are getting allows you to get the benefits of the modules plus more. Not only can you get radar derp, seismic, MPL cooldown and MPL range but now as you use those skill points to get those same skills you will be getting Sensor Range, Target Retention, Heat Generation, Laser Duration and more. You did not lose your modules they are right there incorporated into the new Skill Tree and PGI gave you enough HSP on every Mastered or partially Mastered to buy them all plus those extra ones that are around them. Then on top of that, they will give you GSP for every module that you bought before December 3, 2016 so that you can buy even more modules (skill nodes that reflect the benefits that modules gave) on a bunch of Mechs that you did not have Mastered yet or have not even bought yet. And if you bought modules after December 2016 they are giving you a full C-Bill refund while still giving you the full HSP on all your Mastered Mechs.

You are entitled to your perception of the situation but I fail to see how anyone can consider themselves a victim in this situation.

More like having 800 million dollars you can only use in a very specific convenience store. You can't get any expensive electronics or other goodies. But you can live off of junk food for the rest of your life.
