ok...........Lets get thru the bs and go right for the goal....
this thread is for a simple... "what your suppose to do"
lets forget about mech specific's (thats personal wants and needs)
your mech has HXP lets use my SDR-A as the first example
just shy of a million HXP so lets just round it up for general purpose Nothing is unlocked... The skill tree us completely untouched
first thing to do ( *if i understand this correctly) is take your HXP and convert it Xp this doesnt cost you anything it gives you the message about this is non reversible
then click on "add SP" and "use available skill points" to the left, then slide the bottom slider "historic skill points" to the right... and confirm
Does this sound right? what are you guys doing.... lets just put this on the table now and move on...

If you click on the button "add SP" there are 2 options. Left side its Skill points you can use. Doesnt cost anything. Right side you can buy Skill points. 45.000 cbill each and 800 of one of those differen XPs. Needles to say that you should use ur historical skill points first. Thats your converted skill points for that mech if you had any skills unlocked in the previous skill tree.

Historic SP first, then historic XP, then General SP/grinding out more XP by playing. That's my take.

yes if you intend to keep the mech.
convert HSP to SP on that mech. Then apply skill points.
Questions:
1. If you sell the mech without converting HSP or HXP I assume it would still be available if you purchased the mech again at a later point. (so if you intend to sell a mech don't convert HXP & HSP).
2. If you put the HSP on one variant I assume you can then buy the variant again and put the HXP on that new mech even though you didn't own it at the time of the patch.

the whole checkout system here needs to be better streamlined i think. its not the clicking on the 91 nodes that bugs me but how tedious this checkout system is, the number of redundant screens and unlimited confirmations is really making this less fun. and the fact that you have to do this before applying changes is really counterintuitive.
90% of the time you are going to get your sp from one source. how about instead of greying out that apply button, you just let me click on it, a popup with like 7 buttons comes up. the first five each allows you to pay entirely with one of the currencies exclusively (hsp, gsp, hxp+cbills, xp+cbills, gxp+cbills) a 6th brings up the multiple sources dialog, and a 7th cancels. no pre-allocation is required. a one click confirmation and done, changes applied. 3 clicks in total unless you needed to be like one of those people at the grocery store who pays on 5 different cards. no sliders or number fields to fumble with most of the time.
or even combine it all into a single window like this:

I have a few hundred thousands of historic XP on each chassis, like 7 thousand GSPs and 800 thousand GXP and almost 800 million c-bills.
I just experiment a lot, don't even fret about the costs or anything. Have more than enough to last until the game itself dies.
