Hello, what is the scariest mech to walk into behind a corner? I don't mean peaking, brawling and alfastriking, but imagine you turn a corner and there is a mech coming for you and want to take you down (1v1 idealy, cause you are the first one there for a while). It takes a while to get back to cover, but the mech is still going for you. I had similar experience in direwolf 6xuac5 or 8xuac2, that when I went around corner (flat terrain corner), I knew that almost any single mech that will be behind, will have a great problem to overdps this 1v1, no time to hide situation.

Any other builds that are crazy scary when going for you in such situation?

SRM6x6 anything comes to mind. As does anything boating mass SPLs.

As a light, SRM6x6 Mad Dog is pretty terrifying - if the pilot can aim. A 12 SPL Nova lying in ambush is pretty nasty too.

These two (or slight variations thereof) are the first that came to mind.

Could also throw in some Kodiak and Battlemaster variations.

The MAD-IIC Scorch (4ASRM6 2LB20X) is a pretty scary one, but I'd say the Diresneeze (artemis + alpha edition) wins.

Seeing as PGI ruined the 5 UAC10 build, 5 LB10X (needing hero arm) is probably second.

The Boomhammer has increased in popularity if the statistics on Smurfy are to be believed

The Splatapult is a mech you never want to under estimate.

The Banshee 3M Pulse build is nasty in the right hands.

No Ghost heat (outside of the UAC20 double tap) oddball build; LBX20, UAC20, 2x UAC10 dire.

The LBX and the UAC don't trigger it together, but that's just a joke build in the end to make people **** their pants when walking around the wrong corner (assuming you don't jam like a *******, obviously). It still suffers Dire syndrome in the end, entertainment value aside.

The heat isn't bad with the Heat Gen nodes either lol. Double Tap for 100 with a bit more reach and a bit less of a "sneeze" and a less of a Node investment into a broad slurry of weapons with hyper short ranges (you can at least reach out more with the UAC10s if need be).

"Joke" build...

Imagine this in a mech that cqn carry something.

But good to know there's no ghost heat.

Eh, the weapon mixture, jam chances, and the sheer fact it's still a Direwolf is what makes it a joke for me (good for some laughs, but not an actual Troll build).

Sure, it can do well and hit hard as ****... but you're relying on weapons notorious for going ****-up without -that- much range to bring the full firepower to bear while coasting along like a blimp on a gentle breeze in a relatively fragile chassis. On the plus side, it doesn't take much face time for that burst before you can twist... but, you know, Dire hitboxes and limited Torso Yaw.

It has enough issues that I can't take it all that seriously, (fun as hell as it may be...), hence a joke. Likely some niche for it, though, "They Boogeyman around the Choke Point".

This can take down anything almost instantly 1 on 1 with minimal to no damage in return:

DWUV-MD1.0
MB1.0ST

https://tarogato-mwo...4c-ada32150ce26

https://tarogato-mwo...4c-216e7a5f4e6a

140 alpha strike Uac doubletap for 50 heat. 100 alpha strike Uac singletap 37 heat. Uacx80, SRMx36, SPLx24.

Can do 2x140 alphas in a row(280), or 3x100 alphas and the equivalent of two more laser volleys..(348 damage.)

And remember wiggling in a direwolf can eliminate almost all damage incoming. Great for closing the gap. Once you have that down you can simply walk into enemy fire and shake it off(literally) then fire on them at your convenience. You should be minimal shaking though. Maybe half of your screen width. Enough to spread damage evenly, but not enough that you can't return fire. Never twist to use your side to absorb damage.

The boiler can also be setup with a slightly weaker version with the ability to do like 5+ alphas in a row.

74 or 94 alpha:

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...e12165e28821328

2xUac10's, 3xSPL, 3xSRM6. About 20DHS before the skill tree. But I don't know what it would do now. It could alphas nearly endlessly.

It's now at 4 alphas of 94 with max heat skills and 21 DHS. The change in total dissipation on clan side has changed things a little. Unless I'm using IS values and the Clan have lower still in the tree. I used 12% CD and 10% dissipation.
