Should ramming be back? I know there was much more ramming before but it got removed. Now with Vectoring JJ tree there could be some use for Death From Above attacks. PGI could make some simple damage formula, for example multiply attacking Mech tonnage by Mech speed and by Attack Angle(attacks from top would deal more damage) then divide this by defending Mech tonnage and some other factors. Would make high tonnage mechs more deadly. Some mechs like Dragon, Executioner, Kodiak etc. should get small ramming quirks too. Such damage probably shouldn't be too high but it should be significant when we're talking about mech weight ratio. If a 95t 90kph Executioner would jump on top of 20t Locust, then Locust should get squashed like a bug - in MWO terms take severe damage. But Executioner jumping on top of 100t Atlas shouldn't do that much damage. And 30t Arctic Cheetah shouldn't do much ramming damage to 80t Zeus. Any takes on this?

Only if we get melee so I can use a giant battle axe to chop off the legs of flying gnats.

Knockdown is never gonna be back, but I do want to see stronger ramming damage. For immersion. Just pray the puglets learn to stay clear of their teammates after crashing into each other several times.

You're going to bring back Paul's PTSD just mentioning knock-downs

Yes knockdown should be back. A 20T mech at 100+kph head on collision against 100T mech at 50kph should be catastrophic to the smaller mech and should knock them down.

That said as El Bandito said unfortunately it will never be back.

Well knockdown was removed because people exploited it yet?

Would be nice for collision to be ramped up a bit. I WANT THE ABILITY TO DO A HIGHLANDER BURIAL DAMMIT! Posted Image

In earlier games it was like the height of achievement, maybe now it might be a bit easier with the gravity being turned up?

It was done so badly it had to be removed back in the days (which was a HUGE improvement for the games quality), and honestly, i have zero confidence in PGI doing it better nowadays.

So no, don't bring it back. Luckily PGI seems to be aware of the fact they cant get proper collisions done, so the made no attempt of adding knockdowns/ramming again.

When all weapons gone ramming should do some damage or something.

Maybe because the mech is lighter or some reason. Been in many matches where a disarmed mech cant do anything and if it did even a little damage ramming that would be cool.

This might be the first thing of Johnny Z's that I've actually agreed with.

I would love ramming and give me a purpose to run my linebackers into enemy mechs and laugh while doing it.

Add knockdowns and make quadrupeds resistant to them Posted Image

Imagine the hilarity of a mech ramming one, tripping over it and falling flat on their face without affecting the quadruped much.

2 ideas;

1. Add ramming damage bonuses to the skill tree.

2. Add a weapon or upgrade that boosts ramming damage.

Nope, it makes him feel sullied and unusual.
