I'll go first. Posted Image

I just cannot bring myself to like the Stormcrow. Why? Honestly, I cannot even tell you... It's clearly a potent mech with lots of possibilities but there is just something about the mech that makes me want to burn it with fire.

So who else has an irrational dislike of a mech for no good reason?

The Marauders. Maybe it's the rear end, which is odd, as I am normally rather partial to a trunk filled with an excessive amount of junk.

If you've spent any amount of time in any Knockoff MK2 worship thread, you'll know exactly why I dislike it.

The fatlas. Sure the atlas was one of the first mechs in the game but I can't do any thing with it except be an easy kill. Dam thing is just too dam slow and big. If I get 200 or more damage with it while using anything besides lrm I did good with it. In a light I can easily do 300 plus damage.

The Dire Wolf. The only Clan mech that I haven't been able to do well in, ever. People always kept telling me that the Whale is a Tier 1 mech, but I always kept hating it :D

Thunderbolts, good mechs, but for whatever reason they just rustle my jimmies just being near me.

Trebuchet -- those pretentious ********.
Locusts, Jenners, Oxides, and Wolfhounds -- ******* buzzkills.
Summoners -- One trick ponies.

IS Marauders. Never liked them. Too cumbersome with Std engine, and too fragile with XL, with easy to isolate butt. LFE might change my mind.

Ravens - I just never recovered from disliking them from the days of wonky hit boxes, warping and deadly streak missiles.

Ahh....the days where 2 3xstreak2 ravens could go 2vs8 and kill everything, cause nothing would hit-reg on them and streaks were CT seekers

ACH, LCT.

Every time I see either of these two lights, I have an unexplainable urge to rip them apart, limb from limb. And then leave as soon as they're standing on one leg with no weapons left.

I love to play it but I can't stand the size and look of the IFR, I bought it when I bought the wave up to the HBR to get a 65 ton mech clan side that I can put in a drop deck.

Another couple that I think doesn't look very good are the DRG and MDD. I'm sure they're fine rides and could see myself having fun in them but I just think they're not very good looking.

The trick with the Atlas is being patient and staying out of sight. It's more of an ambush mech then a front liner because it's so slow. Let the rest of the team trade and snipe. Stay out of sight and judge when the team starts to actually push THEN bring your fresh armor into the fray. If you stick your head out too early or too far, it's low speed and short weapon range bracket means you rarely trade well. When I play the patient game, I usually get 500+ dmg. Whenever I do less, it's because I was impatient and got caught in the open.

Atlas is a great training mech for IS assault because it forces/teaches you to be patient and develop a better appreciation of battlefield awareness. Other mechs like Battlemaster or MADIIC has almost no learning curve - just point, shoot, hide and repeat.

Any mech that has a gun arm, that is best built using just torso-mounted weaponry or mechs with symmertrical gun arms built asymmetrically just drives me up the ******* walls.

SRM Centurions, Enforcer 4R, Urbanmech, EBJ (C), MX90, Nova or Summoner with PPCs in the side torsos. Warhammer in general.

Totally understand that they're good but good lord it's such a travesty to have these mechs end up balanced around the hardpoints that were for secondary armaments on the canon mechs.

All the IIC and Mk. 2 mechs. It feels a bit cheap I guess? Like the game designers couldn't come up with new ones?

Also why would the clans copy inferior freebirth designs when they are capable of mechs like the Kodiak, Timby, Hellbringer, etc ?
