Blackjack with AC-2's I named Bushmaster after the gun I spent 21 years with in the Marine Corps, the M242 Bushmaster. The sound, rate of fire, and employment of that particular much remind me of my beloved LAV- 25.
My Urbanmech R60 I call dumpsterfire.

About 70 out of my 90 'Mechs have names. Most of them are punny and cheesy... for example, all of my Urbies have "Can" somewhere in their names. CanCannon, MoCan, BoomCan, Can It, Can Opener, Can-Do... and the upcoming K-9, which I shall preemptively dub "Cop Can."

I nicknamed my nova "Meltdown" after a 900+ dmg game with 7 kills. Twas a beautiful game. My Crab 27-B has been nicknamed TK-1, after it popped a team mates IS XL, oops

I do often name them as I get used to them and get some nice standard loadout, but then as I later often change the loadouts, the names can be misleading.

Recently I made a new pass and renamed some mechs which names have become obsolete for a year ago.

I don't have many named of my ~120, but the one that sticks out is my Orion IIC (O) variant.

I try to give my Mechs humorous names. My favorite are my crabs, which I have named:

Panty Pest, Rude Itch, Pubic Pal and Lousey Pal.

I named by K2 with tiger stripes and woodland camo battlecat because it could tank like an atlas in a brawl. I'm going to have to max armor on it to see if it still worthy of the name. My C1 Catapult is just called Best because it is my most used and favorite mech in the game. Most of my lights are now named trash1,trash2, etc because of all the constant nerf-ing each patch seems to do to them.

Thunderbolt-5SS - Pulsewidth
Stalker-4N - Mr. Coffee - comes with a stream of Spaceballs quotes in All Chat.
King Crab-0000 - Faceraper, because it runs a 104 point alpha.
Mauler-2P - Bring Friends - The less durable but slightly more fun version of the King Crab with a 91 point alpha.

Other than those ones, the only names are ones that required modules to run efficiently so I remembered to check if they were on.

The majority of mine that have finalized loadouts also have names that remind me of what the mech is or does. Such as "I am Thor" for a PPC mech, "Longranger" for an ERLL mech, or just simple stuff like Large Laser or AC20 if I wasn't feeling creative at all that day.

A few got real mechwarrior style names, like "2X or Nuttin" which would have been Double or Nothing if the length of mech names was more reasonable, for my enforcer 5P that lives or dies on jam chance. "Ol Lefty" for my Enforcer 4R, "The Finisher" for my Enforcer 5D (named after a match where I was the last standing and actually didn't screw up for a change).

And some just have joke names as well, like "Megaman" for an all blue Zeus 6T with 3 SRM6 in the arm because of the look, or my all green Grasshopper 5N just named "Grasshopper."
